Rintaro's Memories

Happy New Year.
My name is Rintaro.

I was kept in a cage for a long time,
left all alone,
and was on the verge of dying when
I met Mom,
and I ended up
living with her.

I used to be so skinny and weak,
but now I'm full of energy.

I became the manager cat
at the gallery Mom ran, and I met
many different people.
Everyone was so kind.

The sky I looked up at
from the gallery's rooftop
was truly special.

Even when Mom closed the gallery
and we moved,
I wasn't worried at all.

Because I was with Mom,
after all...

I don't think I'll ever go back
to that rooftop again,

but now, every day,
I watch the sky from inside my room...

It's actually quite a nice feeling.
