[What are Tokyo Souvenirs?] 3 Recommendations I Arrived at After 10 Years
If you are in Tokyo, you can eat anything delicious from all over the country. And wonderful things from overseas, too. On the other hand, the trouble is finding things that originate from Tokyo.
I have lived in Tokyo for over 10 years, but I have struggled to find "Tokyo souvenirs" every time I visit my hometown.
There are surprisingly many things that are not actually from Tokyo, even though they have "Tokyo" in the name.
Well, this time I will introduce the recommended Tokyo-origin sweets that I have arrived at!
This is my own personal ranking narrowed down to "things sold at Tokyo Station," but I hope you will join me (^^)
[My Tokyo Sweets Ranking]
1st Place: Kyobashi Senbikiya's Fruit Baked Goods
Even though it is called "Senbikiya," there are several branches because of the noren-wake (branching off) system, but the Tokyo Station store is "Kyobashi Senbikiya."
I often buy "Musk Melon Bavarois" or "Fruit Bavarois" to eat on the Shinkansen.
But as a gift, I choose baked goods that have a longer shelf life.
They have a slightly mature flavor, but my child (5 years old) also eats them happily.
2nd Place: Funawa's Imo Yokan (Sweet Potato Jelly)
It is truly a "yokan that tastes like you are eating sweet potato," but it is not heavy, so you can eat as many as you like. It never gets old, so it is also popular with my relatives.
Since no artificial coloring, preservatives, or artificial flavors are used, it is safe for not only adults but also children!
3rd Place: Audrey's Glacia
A baked good with a cute appearance like a bouquet, topped with a strawberry.
Each one is individually wrapped, making it easy to distribute in places where large groups gather.
However, there is a huge line at the store no matter what time you go! Therefore, I get them when I have plenty of time.

When you are in Tokyo, you can eat delicious things from all over the world. But among them, it is also fun to be conscious of "where the sweets are from" when choosing them ♪
