[Clumsy English Conversation 1Month④] What Santa Gave Us
Is it still okay to talk about Christmas? lol
I started online English conversation, and I've been putting in just 15 minutes a day, 6 days a week.
Since there is one day a week without English conversation I thought I would write articles on that day, so I've been stocking up on content, but...
Before I knew it, it's New Year's Eve! (/・ω・)/
Since the year hasn't ended yet, is it barely okay?
Let me rewind time a little and talk about Christmas.
*Parts where I made mistakes or didn't know and was taught are in bold
My daughter hoped for Santa to come.
On Christmas Eve, she woke up early and cleaned up our house.
For example, the entrance, windows, living room, and so on.
On Christmas Eve, she woke up early and cleaned the house.
The entrance, windows, and the living room.
Because my house doesn't have a chimney.
She doesn't know which entrance he comes in through.
She cleaned the whole house.
She doesn't know where Santa comes in from.
She cleaned the whole house.
It was the first time in my life I thought about what to call a "chimney" in English.
The answer is... chimney
. Regarding this, I got reactions from the instructor like "lovely story".
On Christmas day, Santa had come here at midnight.
She woke up early, and she was surprised because there were some presents in the living room.
Her present was roller skates that she had wanted for a long time.
She woke up early and was surprised because there were some presents in the living room.
Her present was the roller skates she had wanted for a long time.
I was taught that "roller skates" is understood, but you can also say roller skating boots.
My son got a book that makes animal noises when you press the button makes animal noises.
There are sounds of elephants, pigs, horses, sheep, and so on.
I heard that my house feels like a farm.
There are elephants, pigs, sheep, and so on.
When I hear it, I feel like my house is a farm.
The instructor told me, "It reminds me of when my children were small," and there was a reaction of Such a lovely age.
I also received a present that was a globe. I'm interested in geography.
That is because I am interested in geography.
It's hard to get the word 'globe' across...
It seems like it sounds like 'glow,' so I have to explain it by saying things like 'you know, the round thing of the Earth' or 'a map of the Earth' to make myself understood.
And, I like maps, but I couldn't even put that into words in Japanese in the first place. lol
I'm interested in geography.
It's a big deal that I learned I can use this one sentence to convey that I am interested in topography, climate, population distribution, politics, and economics.
I learn on cambly 6days per week, I can meet tutors all over the world.
After the class, I checked the globe to see where that tutor lives and talk with my daughter.
After the lesson, I look at the globe to see where the tutor lives and talk about it with my daughter.
I got the response, 'That's a great idea.'
Many tutors live in different countries to the ones they were born in.
Yes, I find it interesting that so many tutors move across countries.
I have never left Japan, so I find it even more so.
My daughter also likes to see the map.
Santa did a good job.
Santa did a good job.
“She has picked up your passion.” “You're a good mother.” I was happy to hear those responses.
After this, there were questions like 'Does everybody in Japan celebrate Christmas?', and the conversation expanded to how Japanese people enjoy Christmas.
🎍・🎍・🎍

Hello (^^)/
The expenses are considerable. No doubt about it. lol
The water from cleaning the air conditioner is dirty, isn't it!!!
Yes, it was educational to learn that in many overseas countries, people often do a big cleaning in the spring.
