[I Like People ③] Moments That Made My Heart Skip a Beat

A while ago, I talked about how I got back in touch with my elementary school classmates (from 20 years ago).
The trigger for this was the opening of a time capsule we had sealed back then.

This time, I would like to continue that story.

I like every single member of that class.
The reason is that there isn't a single bad person among them.

My memory is that they were all honest, good kids.

One day, I was able to connect with A-kun, the most popular guy in the class.
He was good at sports, good at studying, and had a high-ranking face, so he was liked by several girls in the class.

I watched that situation from the sidelines.
That's because he wasn't my type at all. (I also didn't want to get involved in any drama.)

Recently, since I was the one who tracked him down, we got in touch, but the first message I got on LINE was,
"What do you want?"
(lol)

Even though it's a memory from 20 years ago,I laughed out loud, thinking he was still as prickly as ever.

The content of the message was asking what my purpose was—did I want to have a reunion, or did I just want to exchange messages with the class members?

As for me, I had a purpose in mind, so I replied as politely as possible.

His conclusion was, "I don't want to gather with people I'm not interested in," so it was decided that he would not join the class member group.

The way he could just say he was "not interested" in the members I once spent time with in class made me incredibly interested in him.

"I want to see what's inside his head!"

I'm quite the eccentric one for thinking that, aren't I? (lol)
I actually get curious about people who don't show interest in me.

From there, we continued to exchange messages a few times a day.

Gradually, I felt that he was opening up, and he started to say things likethat he was honestly happy that I had gone out of my way to find him and contact him, and that he was enjoying exchanging messages like this here and there.

From then on, my engine started running, and I sent messages cautiously (relying on my 20-year-old memories) so as not to annoy him.

We talked about really trivial things, like the fact that he now lives in a neighboring prefecture, our families, and silly things we thought about during elementary school classes.

About a week later, he sent me this message.

"If you come back home to visit, let me know, and I'll come to see you."

He also mentioned that while he doesn't like large groups, he's fine with a small number of people.

Yaaaaaah!

It was a phrase happy enough to make me shout.

Tsundere!!!!!! (Heart skip)

I am very satisfied, so I am not exchanging messages with him right now.

I didn't know he was such an interesting person.

If I had known back in elementary school, I think I would have gone to talk to him more. (Not that he was a romantic interest, though.)

Perhaps I was able to realize that because I have become an adult myself.
He has become one of the people I hope to meet again someday (^^)

I have returned from my trip.
