Weekly Short-Short Note: 'And Yet, the Earth Is Curved'

The planet we live on, Earth, is shaped like an eggplant.
It is an extremely rare shape among the many stars in the universe.

Research into the origins of the Earth is being actively conducted, and the most prominent theory for the eggplant shape is the 'Big Impact' theory.

It suggests that some entity in the universe (whether it is a particle or a living being, we do not know) compressed a part of the Earth hundreds of millions of years ago, bending it into its current shape.

And the latest observations have revealed a surprising fact: the indentation is gradually getting deeper.
Moreover, it has been accelerating over the past few years.

At this rate, it seems the Earth will split in two in another ten years.

When it splits into two, there is no prediction as to what will happen to each planet. Will both remain as they are, or will one of them turn into dust?

Troubled, the world government decided to hold a lottery for all of humanity to determine which side everyone will live on.

And the card that arrived at my house was red.

When I contacted my parents' home, they said theirs was white.

To think that I would become an alien to my own parents—what kind of story is this?

I made it a story about it being physically curved, but I don't actually know if an eggplant-shaped star can exist as a planet.
