Why Do Those Who 'See Too Much' Stand Out? The Gap Between a Processing-Priority Society and a Structure-Priority Timeline

In a setting where everyone is deciding on something,
have you ever suddenly stopped and thought, "Is this really okay?"
When recurrences happen in an organization, the seeds are buried in moments like these.
At a stage where no one else has identified a problem yet, the future outcome already appears in your mind.
You muster the courage to speak up, but it doesn't come across well
—that kind of experience.
That might not be a difference in ability, but rather
a difference in the order of information processing.
The "gap in processing order" that occurred in the meeting
A new proposal was made at a meeting.
Most people accepted it positively, saying "It doesn't look like there's a problem," and
the discussion proceeded smoothly.
At that time, I was
unconsciously lining up the flow of the contract, the scope of impact, and similar past cases in my head.
And what I saw was
a future where "the sales team might be in trouble depending on the conditions."
So I
asked the question, "Is this okay?"
What came back was:
"There's no point in deciding now"
"Let's just try it for now"
A few weeks later, the trouble I anticipated occurred, adjustments became necessary, and
the team had to scramble to put out the fire.
It's not that anyone is to blame.
It's just that the "timeline" we were looking at was different.
Processing characteristics: Majority OS vs. Minority OS
I understand this as a "difference in OS" of the brain.
The terms majority and minority here do not refer to the number of people, but are words that indicate trends in processing characteristics.

▷ Action-Priority Type (a characteristic common in the majority)
Stimulus → Emotion → Action → Organize reasons
Strengths: Driving force, ability to move a situation forward
Weaknesses: Risks become apparent later
▷ Structural-Priority Type (Characteristics common in the minority)
Stimulus → Instant simulation of causality → Conclusion → Action
Strengths: Foresight, overall optimization, long-term perspective
Weaknesses: May appear slow to act until a conclusion is reached
Both are necessary for society.
The action-first type moves things forward.
The structure-first type prevents things from falling over.
The problem is that
this 'difference in processing order' is not visualized.
Furthermore, social systems and evaluation criteria are often designed with the 'action-first type' in mind.
Therefore, the structure-first type is prone to 'friction with the design,' not because of ability issues.
Structures prone to occurring in Japanese society
In Japan, there is a tendency for the 'let's just try it' attitude to be highly valued.
This creates strengths in cooperation and execution.
On the other hand,
people who carefully survey the whole picture
can sometimes be perceived as passive or overly cautious.
This is not a difference in ability, but a matter of compatibility with social design.
In the short term, the action-first type appears stronger,
while in the long term, the concerns of the structure-first type may become reality.
Even so, when a problem is exposed,
the existence of the person who first raised the question is rarely remembered.
This is because,
the structure that was visible at the pre-event stage is not visualized unless it becomes an actual event.
People process 'what has happened.'
The 'future that did not happen' does not remain in the history.
The perspective that saw the structure first is easily placed outside the evaluation axis.
That is precisely why
people who saw the structure first
may feel that they are not rewarded.
The reason I felt lighter
For a long time, I
wondered, "Why doesn't it get across?"
"Why am I misunderstood?"
"Why do I stand out?"
I struggled with these questions.
However, once I understood that this is not about the superiority or inferiority of ability, but rather a "gap in timelines" caused by different operating systems,
I felt much more at ease.
People who prioritize structure
• Sense future risks in advance
• Think by connecting cause and effect
• Seek long-term stability
have these characteristics.
That is not a brake, but adesign perspective.
Even with the same scenery, the order in which you trace it is different
Action-priority types "act first."
Structure-priority types "connect first."
Neither is correct.
Both are necessary for society.
It is just that the order is different.
If you are feeling,
"Why don't they understand?"
it may not be a problem of ability,
but simply that the timeline you are looking at is different.
The scenery you see,
even if it is not understood immediately,
is a perspective that supports the "stability" of an organization or society.
And that perspective,
in situations where long-term design is required,
can become a "power to stop recurrence."
The structure that was seen beforehand
is quiet, precisely because it did not become an incident.
However, society
is gradually building stability upon such quiet perspectives.

*Regarding the processing characteristics of majority and minority OS types, I have organized my thoughts here, incorporating personal experiences.
This is an installment that delves into how OS differences affect self-understanding and the tendency to 'stand out'.
(Although this is an early self-observation installment, I have included it as an entry point for these sensations.)
🪞 This is a place to clarify your judgment rather than to seek correctness.
If, after finishing reading, you feel that
something has shifted rather than simply 'understanding'.
That is a sign that the 'assumptions' within you have begun to waver.
What we handle at withchat are the 'underlying structures' that dull your decision-making.
We do not offer encouragement or know-how.
This is a time for you to stand in a position from which you cannot return.
