Drawing the Line Between 'Working Mom' and 'Me' | Organizing My Chat List During the Year-End Break
Hello, this is Shion.
After finishing my final day of work, I hid all work-related chat rooms from my LINE chat list (note: I didn't delete them).
A ritual for closing a chapter
I am not provided with a company phone, so I use my personal LINE account for work-related communication.
I use Chatwork for tasks that are heavily work-focused, but I mostly use LINE for day-to-day interactions.
Because of that, my chat list was cluttered with the names of work colleagues and various group chats.
I usually hide chat rooms for people I don't talk to often or when a conversation has ended, but I had kept the work-related ones visible because I knew I would need to access them again soon.
But once I finished my work for the year, I just didn't want to see them anymore... haha.
I took the plunge and hid them.
Achieving a completely private LINE
My chat list, now free of work-related names, feels much cleaner.
I can see all my chat rooms without even having to scroll.
It feels so refreshing and wonderful.
It's not that I dislike the people at my current part-time job or anything like that.
Since we work fully remotely, there are many people I find it comfortable to interact with.
But I suppose I must be keeping my guard up somewhere.
Looking at my clean chat list, my stress has dropped to zero.
To do my best again next year
I saw the news that many people decide to resign after a long holiday.
I understand how they feel.
In my case, it's not that I don't want to work.
I didn't want to work when I was young, though. Haha
Now, I actually want to work.
It's just that I have a strong desire to be rewarded for doing things I like and things I want to do.
For now, I intend to continue this part-time job next year, so this is a stopping point.
I'm taking a step back to refresh and do my best again.
It's quite a nice thing to do.
