Breakfast Expedition 23: Enjoyed a Seafood Bowl at the Market @ Hishinoki
The market cafeterias are open early in the morning. So, I decided to head to the Funabashi Market, which is on my way to work. I arrived before 7:00 AM, and there were already five people in line about 10 minutes before the shop opened. However, there were chairs, so it was comfortable.
The shop is called Hishinoki, and I'm going to have their famous Funabashi Market Bowl.
Once it opened, the first five people filled the first round of seating. I ended up in the second round.
When I was guided inside during the second round, they seated me at a table without crowding the spacious interior, even though I was a solo customer. They only seated two people at the six-seat counter as well. It is a very conscientious shop.

There were other à la carte dishes besides the bowl, but I ordered the Funabashi Market Bowl here. It came with clear soup and a small side dish.

As for the bowl itself, it was piled high, and the amount of tuna was particularly impressive. I suppose the phrase 'generous portion' is meant for cases like this. The tuna was also very fatty; I think it might have all been medium-fatty tuna. There was also whelk, clam, simmered fish, salmon, scallop, octopus, white fish, shrimp, salmon roe, and more, packed in as much as possible. Of course, it also included sweet rolled omelet and pickled ginger, and everything was flawlessly delicious. Under the fish and on top of the rice, there was a layer of minced tuna that was rich and sticky, which went perfectly with the rice, and the rice itself was also delicious. What was especially wonderful was the flounder fin, which was so translucent yet had such a pleasant texture. And the combination of minced tuna without green onions and the rice was so delicious that I felt like I was getting dizzy.
Given this quality and quantity, the value for money is outstanding, and above all, this deliciousness is the best. I feel like this is the most delicious seafood bowl I have ever eaten.
