1/25 Sat 16:00 - Let's get to know Finland! [Know the world]
We have decided to hold a [Know the world] event on short notice!
The first session will be on "Finland"
We carry the following two brands at our shop, but that wasn't the original inspiration for this event.
A friend of mine who has lived in Finland for about 15 years was back in Japan temporarily and visited the shop. I told them I wanted to hold an event to learn about different countries and asked if they would talk about Finland the next time they returned to Japan.
They said their next planned visit is in November.
That's too far away!
So we thought, why not just do it now? And that's how it was decided on short notice (lol).
What kind of image do you have when you think of Finland?
It's hard to tell the difference between Nordic countries, so we tend to just group them all together as "Nordic," don't we?
That said, I haven't been to any Nordic countries myself, so I only have information from things like my acquaintance's Instagram.
Saunas, the Northern Lights, cinnamon rolls, etc...
That's about all I can think of off the top of my head (lol).
Since we started carrying the brands below at the shop, I recently learned that Finland has an abundance of berries, after finding out that lingonberry seeds are used in Moi Forest products.
A brand primarily focused on massage stones made from sauna stones "HUKKA"
The other is the skincare brand "Moi Forest"
Although I've heard a little bit about Finland while discussing these products, there is still so much I don't know about a country I've never visited.
I only have a vague image of the food, and I don't even know which Nordic country has which cuisine, but maybe salmon, meatballs, mashed potatoes, berry sauce, or something like that?!
Regarding the climate, I only have a rough idea about things like the midnight sun or that it's cold.
Don't those of you who have never been there have a similar image?
Even though my friend lives there, I never really have the chance to ask them in detail when we meet.
I have long been interested in 'learning about the daily life' of a country rather than just its tourist spots, so I hope to hear many stories during this opportunity.
The person from the brand we carry has also been to Finland many times and is planning to come this time as well.
The menu for the meal has not been finalized yet, but I will be making dishes suggested by a friend, so please look forward to it!!!
