Space Bamboo Elf

This is the sequel to Yugdo Bamboo and the Bamboo Elf.

Ten thousand years have passed since the Bamboo Elf, once known as the Old Bamboo Cutter, had his daughter taken away by the Moon People.

"Shichima-Zasa, thank you for sticking with me all this time."

He, who changed his name from the Old Bamboo Cutter to the King of Bamboo Takers, expressed his gratitude to me.

"My King, I believe it is still too early for that. Everything will be complete when we rescue Lady Kaguya."
"Ah, you are right."

We are currently in space.
The bamboo seedling that Kaguya, the daughter of the King of Bamboo Takers, left behind just before she was taken by the Moon People has grown into a World Bamboo that reaches into space.
Initially, we planned to wait for the World Bamboo to grow until it reached the moon, but since we have already developed spaceships, that is no longer necessary.
The current World Bamboo has been converted into an orbital elevator by us Bamboo Elves, serving as a bridge connecting space and the ground.

"Shichima, notify the entire army to sortie. We are heading to the moon from here."
"Yes, sir!"

Then, the King of Bamboo Takers and I headed to the moon with 100 Bamboo space battleships.
As soon as we entered their sphere of influence, the Moon People immediately attacked us. Attacks from powerful beam cannons rained down on the Bamboo space fleet, but not a single ship was sunk.

The armor of our ships is made of bamboo carbon nanotubes. When the bamboo grown on the Uron continent is turned into charcoal, special carbon can be extracted from it. Carbon nanotubes made from this exhibit far superior performance to ordinary ones.

The Moon People once possessed power comparable to gods, but now the Bamboo Elves have more advanced scientific capabilities.
This is because the civilization of the Moon People has not grown a single step since 10,000 years ago when they took Lady Kaguya away. This has been confirmed by Bamboo Elf ninjas who had been secretly infiltrating the moon.
Perhaps it is because they are immortal. Because they never die, they stopped growing once their civilization reached a certain level, deciding that nothing more was needed.

Before long, the Bamboo space battleships occupied the capital of the moon, and we stormed the palace where Lady Kaguya was being held.
There, we engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the Moon People, but we overwhelmed them here as well.
The Moon People fought back with powerful beam rifles, but we defended ourselves with cloaks made from the bamboo grass of the World Bamboo, which had been treated with anti-beam coating.

We were overwhelmingly superior, but the enemy still had the powerful advantage of immortality. Therefore, we used bamboo spears to pin the enemies to the spot and neutralize them.
Then, a new group of Moon People appeared. I thought they were enemy reinforcements, but their equipment was clearly different from the enemies we had faced until now.

"We are not your enemies! Like you, we wish for the rescue of Lady Kaguya!"
"I am Shichima-Zasa, captain of the Imperial Guard. Tell me the situation."

I ordered my subordinates to lower their weapons, while being careful not to let any harm come to the King of Bamboo Takers.

"I am Gyokuto-Rabi. I am glad you are someone I can talk to. We are those who have abandoned the power of immortality in order to make the stagnant lunar civilization grow again. Lady Kaguya agreed with our philosophy and, despite her position as the consort of the King of the Moon, secretly supported us. To repay that debt, please let us participate in the rescue operation."
"King of Bamboo Takers, what shall we do?"

After thinking for a moment, the King of Bamboo Takers made his decision.

"Understood. I want you to lend us your strength to save Kaguya."
"Yes! Of course!"

The King of Bamboo Takers and Gyokuto shook hands firmly, as if they trusted each other.
Having gained unexpected allies, we scattered the enemy with the force of splitting bamboo.
And we captured the King of the Moon, finally succeeding in rescuing Lady Kaguya.

"Kaguya!"
"Father!"

The King of Bamboo Takers hugged Lady Kaguya tightly. For this moment only, he was not a king, but a father.

"Forgive me, it took me 10,000 years to save you."
"I always believed. Even after I was forced to become the consort of the King of the Moon, I was sure that you would come to save me, Father."

The 10,000-year-old wish of us Bamboo Elves was finally fulfilled.
