[Back Alley of note] Character count again! Delivering a perverted article by a pervert for perverts
Hello,
this is Yasuda.
I am the pervert who previously did a character count for Konishi-san's
What Are You Talking About Department Newsletter article.
It received more of a response than I expected.
And that was also the moment Yasuda was certified as a pervert.
(I wonder if I'm okay in various ways)
And today, 12/16, the
31st issue
, the final What Are You Talking About Department Newsletter of 2024, was delivered.
I felt that I needed to do a character count again,
and I couldn't sit still, so I am writing this note.
Learning from my previous mistakes,
・Properly count the characters in the table of contents as well
・Make the summary table easier to read
I will keep these in mind as I write.
By the way,
as of 9/25,
the 25th newsletter was 550,994 characters.
Now, please try to guess how many characters it has become
while you read.
So, here are the results of the count.
Character count results for issues 26 through 31
First, please take a look at the summary table.

The character count was 229,014 characters.
My guess was around 150,000 characters,
so it far exceeded that.
I underestimated it.
6 articles, all over 30,000 characters is insane.
Total character count for all 31 issues
Now, for the total character count you are curious about.

780,008 characters
is what it came to.
Ending with the auspicious number '8'
and they lived happily ever after
is not the case
No, wait a minute
These 6 articles are about 20% of the total (6/31 articles)
yet the character count accounts for 30% of the total
The catch-up in the second half was incredible
Thoughts after trying it
Previously, I counted for 25 articles, so
it took an incredibly long time
(partly because I miscounted about 6 articles and had to recount them)
This time it was 6 articles, so it ended surprisingly easily (derangement)
From now on, I think I will count them the moment the newsletter is released
I wanted to know the limits of the character counting site
I wonder how many hundreds of thousands or millions it can count...
And
what I want you to pay attention to is not just the character count, but
the number of people picked up
On average, it's over 120 people
That means there are that many back-alley residents
and that there is someone who collects and comments on all of those residents' articles

Moreover, since it's not limited to one article per person,
the number is even higher than the number of people in this list
There is something I think about when I am counting characters
Ah, that there is a world of difference between a true pervert and myself...
When converted to a university graduation thesis
Generally, a university graduation thesis is said to be
around 20,000 to 40,000 characters
I am writing a thesis as the culmination of 4 to 6 years of study, but
Mr. Konishi has written
about 20 to 40 papers in just one year, or rather, about 9 months.
This is perverted.

I received this general review from someone I thought was such a pervert.
I realized something terrible. I thought being a pervert was the exclusive patent of Maiton and Genchon, but perhaps Mr. Yasuda is actually the leader. Your lifestyle is perverted and you aren't even hiding it. Judging by reading Mr. Yasuda's 'What are you talking about?', your latent perversion has blossomed, and perhaps no one had just noticed it yet. An amazing person has appeared. With your second piece, you are opening the door to the path of perversion.
Could it be that I was ahead
of the pervert brothers?...
Should I be honestly happy about this?
But I am a pervert who finds it delicious.
Perhaps the vector of our perversion is different...
I want to believe that.

Summary
Even I wonder what I am doing.
Is it because I am a pervert
that I find these things I consider useless
to be incredibly fun?
My personal branding is starting to get weird, but I tell myself that it is important to take a break sometimes.
I have posted the link below, so if you would like to see the back alley, please do!
Once you step inside,
it might be a world you cannot return from, so please do so at your own risk!
