Anime Introduction & Review [Blue Lock] Become the Strongest Striker! Season 2 Starts Broadcasting in October 2024

This time, it's about "Blue Lock"
The second season of the TV anime is set to air in October, and
it's an anime to watch right now.

Whether you're rewatching it now or
watching it for the first time,
I think it's a great time to start.

Now, let's kick off the main story!

Synopsis

The prefectural final of the All Japan High School Soccer Tournament.

Second-year high school forward, Yoichi Isagi.

In a perfect position to receive a pass,
he has to decide whether to score himself or pass.
If he scores, they go to nationals;
if he misses, they lose—a once-in-a-lifetime high-stakes moment.

After agonizing over it,
he chooses not to go for the goal himself,
but to pass to a teammate.

The result is that his teammate misses the goal,
and their path to the national tournament is cut off.

Then, an invitation to "Blue Lock"
arrives for Isagi.

Blue Lock is a facility designed to produce
the strongest forward (striker)
so that the Japanese national team can win the World Cup.

300 high school-aged forwards are gathered,
all to become the one egoist who will be the world's best striker.

Without knowing anything,
Isagi and the others are gathered in a small room
and challenged to an "entrance test" (death game)
to decide one person to be eliminated from the group of 12.

The intense battle of the strikers

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but
before watching Blue Lock, I,
Yasuda, felt like this:

Talk about a complete turnaround, haha

What's more, I'm so hooked
that I finished all 24 episodes
in about 4 days.

After all, this Blue Lock
is not a youth soccer story.
(That's how I interpret it, anyway.)

Blue Lock is a story about strikers (goal scorers)
aiming to become the strongest striker.

Therefore,
every player on the field
is a striker.

For those of you thinking,
"That wouldn't even be a match..."

Exactly.
At first, it doesn't work as a match, haha.

Everyone is like, "Me, me!"
"Pass it to me!"
"I'm going to score the goal!!"

And so,
it starts in a state of chaos.

However,
soccer is a team sport.
It doesn't mean anything if only one person is strong.

They aim to be the strongest striker, but
each has their own strengths,
and the protagonist, Yoichi Isagi,
also realizes his own weapon
and begins to awaken.

And then,
another strong enemy appears.

This feeling of having just gotten stronger
only for an even bigger wall (enemy) to appear,

I love it.

Even though they became so strong,
they get crushed by the next enemy.

And then they get stronger again.
It's irresistible.

Season 2 will depict
the battle between the Japan national team and Isagi's Blue Lock team.

I'm so excited for it!

Personally,
I like the 1st cour's OP and ED.

Summary

Blue Lock
conveys the appeal of soccer
from a fresh perspective.

At first glance, the theories might seem absurd,
but there are many parts that make sense,
and the way of thinking
can be applied to things other than sports.

Especially when facing strong rivals,
Isagi's way of thinking and
actions are very educational.

Blue Lock Season 2

Starting October 5th (Sat) at 23:30,
a 14-episode broadcast begins.
