The Idea That Everything Is Borrowed
I have multiple faces (titles), but
I think of them all as "gifts from heaven, things borrowed."
My corporate position.
My standing as a counselor.
It is not that I do not take responsibility.
"Because they are borrowed, because they are entrusted to me by others, I treat them with care."
I maintain this stance.
A corporate position is an authority granted to make work easier to perform.
It is like a passport, lent out to ensure that duties run smoothly.
My position as a counselor is something I have been certified for by the association.
I have more experience and knowledge regarding emotions than others,
and by sharing that,
I also maintain an attitude of deepening my own learning through that experience.
Recently, although it is something I heard through the grapevine,
I learned of the idea that not only these things and titles,
but even one's own body is a "gift from heaven."
Come to think of it, I often hear the phrase "a life given by God"
in moving personal stories, but
I had never been conscious of it on a daily basis.
My physical body is also borrowed from heaven.
When viewed from this perspective, I can step back and look at it more objectively,
and taking care of and nurturing my body
returns to me as health, and also leads to gratitude for being alive.
Thinking that, I realized that I need to review my lifestyle patterns (like staying up late...).
That is what I thought.
Finally, I am grateful to this sanctuary called note, which allows me to be active
under the title of "essayist."
Thank you for reading.
I am grateful for the joy of being able to write again today.
