[Breaking News] Azaleas on Mt. Yamato-Katsuragi have started blooming | Peak expected next weekend (2026)
The azaleas on Mt. Yamato-Katsuragi have now "started to bloom."
While some early trees have begun to open their flowers,
the overall state is still in the "beginning to color" phase.
The peak viewing time will likely be around next weekend.
■ Current blooming status (May 2, 2026)
Overall: Started blooming
Early trees: Some blooming
Most trees: Buds to starting to open
※ It is not yet in a state where "the mountain is dyed red"
■ Local impressions
As I walked,
the trees were starting to color in order from the sunniest spots.
It has that "about to burst into bloom" atmosphere before full bloom.
