[Correspondence] Enjoying life, both play and work, to make it last

Dear wakka,

Quite a bit of time has passed!
Time really flies, doesn't it? How have you been?
Before I knew it, the world has turned completely into autumn.

It finally cooled down, so I turned off the air conditioner that I had been running 24/7. The axolotl I mentioned in my last letter (I call her "Mannaka-chan") is also doing well.

By the way, regarding your question about food and water changes, they sell artificial food, so I give her that. I change the water about once a week, I suppose?
They say you don't have to be too fussy as long as you keep an eye on the water temperature.

She is always there by my side, watching over me as my partner in my writing work.

I finally found Pacific saury at the supermarket, so I grilled some tonight. Eating it piping hot with grated daikon radish, lemon, and soy sauce is our family's way of doing it♡

Speaking of the flavors of autumn!

The other day, my mother-in-law sent me some Shine Muscat grapes.
And four huge bunches of them, too!

They were sweet, large, and very satisfying.
I ate them for breakfast, at tea time, as a dessert after lunch, and as a snack...
And yet, they just wouldn't run out... lol

How luxurious that is.
While eating them, I kept thinking of you, wakka.

I think I'll probably think of you every time I see Shine Muscat from now on. I wish you lived closer so I could share some with you.

Changing the subject, I read your episode about your husband with a smile.
Waiting around on my own (?) and getting grumpy might be my role. lol
I suppose the roles in a marriage depend on the household!

You mentioned that the joy you get from working is books you want to buy.
I have become completely hooked on ferries. I'm going to ride one again.

Starting on the 4th, under the pretext of going to a community meetup, I'm taking a ferry back to Yokosuka instead of staying overnight. It takes 22 hours, but the total cost for the fare and travel is under 20,000 yen, so it's a great deal♡

I plan to fly to Fukuoka early in the morning, write some notes, and then relax at an aquarium until the meetup time. The beauty of traveling alone is that you can decide your own destination.

It's because I work that I can enjoy things I love like this.
I don't just want to enjoy it; I hope to channel the energy I gain from my travels back into my work results.

I'm also entering the second half of my life.
I want to be conscious of a good cycle for both money and energy, and fully enjoy my adult years.

It's been getting hot and cold, but I hope the weather will be a bit more settled by the time your letter reaches me, wakka. I look forward to your reply.
