Wadaiko Festival "Conobono!! 2024" at Lake Saiko; rootfield also a venue
I am Wakana, editor-in-chief of the Kofu Keizai Shimbun.
For two days, today and tomorrow, the Wadaiko (Japanese drum) festival "Conobono!! 2024" is being held at "Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba" and the "Kominka-yado root field" in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Lake Saiko.
This is the fifth year of this music festival, which promotes regional charm and traditional culture. Twelve groups will perform a variety of shows on the "Mt. Fuji Stage," set against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji, and the "Kominka Stage" located at Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba.
In addition to Wadaiko performances, you can enjoy Kuromoji (spicebush) dyeing workshops and Rakugo by Yamanashi-born storyteller Ryutei Ichimatsu, as well as a food truck area featuring local ingredients.

As for the event name "Conobono," "Kono" refers to enjoying the sounds of nature that we often don't notice, such as the sound of the lake, the sound of trees swaying in the wind, and the sound of Wadaiko drums. "Bono" is Italian for "delicious." Combining these two words, "Conobono" has developed into an event that provides comfort and healing to all who visit, by integrating the region's nature, culture, and food.

This time, in the food sector, the Kawaguchiko natural farming garlic producer "Mt. Fuji Green Kids Farm" is also participating. We are also partners with "Mt. Fuji Green Kids Farm" in the Yamanashi Prefecture "Nohaku" (farm stay) project.
Kawaguchiko natural farming garlic producer "Mt. Fuji Green Kids Farm"

Mt. Fuji Green Kids Farm is a natural farming garlic farm located at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Kawaguchiko Town. It is run by Takashi Sakai and Miki Kawaji, a couple who moved from Tokyo in 2016, and they practice sustainable, environmentally friendly agriculture. They grow a native variety of garlic with purple skins, a mild spiciness, and a clean flavor, and they also conduct activities to share the appeal of natural farming through agricultural experiences such as sowing and harvesting.

Please come and visit this event, where the powerful resonance of Wadaiko drums fuses with the beautiful nature of Yamanashi, allowing you to rediscover the richness of the region. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to share the sounds of nature, the charm of the region, and time with many other people.
