Isn't it the people who say they aren't interested who are actually the most curious about the Samurai Mac without sauce?
Ordering the Samurai Mac without sauce has recently become a bit of a trend.
Looking at the reactions on X, opinions are split right down the middle.
I don't get this trend of acting like ordering it without sauce makes you a food connoisseur; it's just pretentious, seriously lol
It's seriously unbelievably good. It's genuinely on the level of a 2,000 yen burger.
Whether you feel it's pretentious or delicious—that's the only difference. I don't think it's a matter of which side is more correct or which one is more authentic.
Honestly, I'm the type of person who isn't really interested in trends or new shops. Even if something is being talked about, I usually just ignore it.
I wanted to eat it, so I went.
Yet this time, I ordered the Roasted Soy Sauce-style Double Thick Beef burger without sauce. I ordered it through the app just to eat this and headed to McDonald's. I even think to myself, 'I got swept up in the trend.'
After one bite, I honestly thought, 'Today's sauce-less Mac was really good.' I've been on a light-flavor kick lately, even ordering my ramen with less seasoning, so I think it was a good match for me. Some people might find it lacking, but I was hooked. If I go to McDonald's again, I'll probably order the same thing.
It's not just this.
This isn't the only trend I've jumped on. I also showed up for the opening day event at a new convenience store that opened near my house. There was no real reason; if I had to say, it was just because it was opening day. I feel like I've started to like these kinds of things lately.
Despite saying I'm 'not interested,' my actions are the complete opposite. Come to think of it, if I really weren't interested, I shouldn't have even noticed that the sauce-less trend was a topic of conversation in the first place.
That's all it is.
But after actually trying it, I thought it wasn't so bad to jump on a trend once in a while. It's not about whether it's good or bad; I'm the type who doesn't follow trends, but I do have an interest in new things.
I, who simply had no interest in new things, have come to think that new things are also nice. That's all.
I have a feeling that the people who say they 'aren't interested' are actually the ones who care the most.
I don't know what will go viral next, but I have a feeling I'll probably jump on that too.
