I searched for "left-handed child"... but most of the results were about "left-handed adults".
I searched for "left-handed parenting"... and there were only 200 results.
I see... I should just write about it myself!

Since information is easy to get nowadays, you might not worry too much about "raising a left-handed child."
With my eldest daughter, I faced the following three problems:
Not noticing that they are left-handed
Not noticing that things are hard to use if they aren't for left-handed people
Not noticing that teaching a left-handed child is different from teaching a right-handed one
Even if you can find the answer by looking it up, you won't look it up if you don't notice the problem.
Not noticing that they are left-handed

I think most people raise their children assuming they are right-handed.
In my eldest daughter's case, I had prepared right-handed chopsticks for her.
However,
even if it's the opposite of their dominant hand, they can learn to do it if they take the time,
so you don't notice they are left-handed.
As a result, there is a possibility that they may grow up without realizing they are left-handed.
My eldest daughter was able to eat with her right hand when using training chopsticks.
But... when it came to regular chopsticks, she struggled with her right hand.
Then, before I knew it, she was holding the chopsticks in her left hand and eating away, so I realized she was left-handed.
The solution is
Keep in mind that they might be left-handed
Not realizing that things are hard to use unless they are left-handed tools

Left-handed people often cannot use things well if they are for right-handed people, especially when writing and cutting.
She was watching me cut bread with a bread knife, so when I asked, 'Do you want to try cutting it?' and let her do it...
At first glance, she was using the proper cutting method, but she couldn't cut it well.
I realized later that many bread knives are optimized for right-handed people, so left-handed people may not be able to use them well.
Like this, if you don't know that it's difficult for left-handed people, there are many things they can't do well.
The solution is
Check in advance whether the task is difficult to perform
Not realizing that teaching a left-handed person is different

Even if the left and right are different, it doesn't mean you can just mirror it like a reflection... and it will work.
When teaching, especially cutting and writing, the way of doing things is completely different.
Since the characters being written become invisible when teaching, whether you stand on the right side or the left side also changes.
The solution is
Research how to teach a left-handed child
Show them demonstration videos
Solve the 'unnoticed' problems of raising a left-handed child by being proactive

Unlike in the past, there is a lot of information available now, so it is highly likely that you can find solutions to problems that arise from being 'left-handed' if you look them up.
Therefore, always consider the possibility that problems unique to being left-handed might occur,
and you will be fine if you stay one step ahead.
