"Kingdom" has many lines that make you think. Words that should be examined more closely than the famous lines of the day, the true value lies in casual scenes rather than in punchlines.

❤️Initiative in War
Seizing the initiative is everything in winning a battle. Therefore, even though everyone knows it, and while there are people who can execute it, those who can fully master it are rare.
Animals don't lie.
Even in the natural world, in the animal kingdom, humans cannot control things. How much more so in the human world, where people tell lies.
In such a human world, it is natural for deception to be used to win battles where one seeks advantage.
If you can make your opponent move, you can grasp the situation. If you know the opponent's movements, you can outmaneuver them.
Telling lies and using deception is done to seize the initiative. Initiative is the acquisition and control of the priority of conflict.
Conflicts involve both sides seeking advantage. Because they compete for priority, if you cannot keep up with the opponent's movements, you will be pushed to the back.
Thus, you are delayed, dragged along, and have your spoils of war stolen.
As Taku-san says, if you do not seize the initiative in war, your advantage will be stripped away, and you will be sent to a death trap and defeated. After all, the place and time of the conflict are the same for both sides.
However, if you can make your opponent move, you can grasp the situation. If you know your opponent's movements, you can outmaneuver them.
The early bird gets the worm versus waiting for the right moment. There is a difference between the initiative and the counter, but seizing the lead is everything.
The point is, it's fine as long as you win in the end.
