"Kingdom" has many lines that make you think. The words that should be savored more than the famous lines of the day are found in casual scenes rather than in catchphrases; that is where their true value lies.

<<Synopsis>>

Shin, a servant in the state of Qin, helps the prince reclaim his throne to fulfill his and Hyou's dream. Joined by Karyo Ten, whom they met during their escape, Ei Sei and the others enlist the help of the Mountain King to form an alliance and carry out the operation to retake the throne.

Entering the royal capital of Kanyou, Shin and his group fight as a guerrilla unit against the soldiers of the King's younger brother in the corridors and the palace, winning the fierce battle. Thus, Ei Sei and the Mountain King suppressed the palace rebellion.

Having quelled the palace rebellion, Shin is granted wealth and a house, officially becoming a citizen of Qin, moving up from his status as a servant.

Then, he responds to an infantry recruitment notice posted in his village and heads to his first battlefield. Heki, who fought with him in the battle to reclaim the throne, is also there.

Although Shin and his group fight on the first battlefield, the infantry unit is forced into a difficult struggle. In the midst of this, Great General Duke Hyou sends a cavalry unit as reinforcements to their battlefield.

While Heki's cavalry unit supports the infantry, the 1000-man commander Baku Koshin decides to throw Shin and his men, who had performed well, into even greater danger.
Riding on horseback, Shin and his group finally reach the Wei army's main camp on the hill.

Baku Koshin dies in a mutual kill with the Wei general Kyuugen, and Shin and his men capture the hill in the battle that follows the deaths of both generals. In the final battle between the supreme commanders of Wei and Qin, Duke Hyou refutes the words of the Wei supreme commander, Go Kei.

It can be said that the history of the battlefield and war is a history of the bitterness that General Go Kei has had to endure.
The lives of people fading away, the sorrow of the survivors left behind after losing their loved ones—whether living or dying, it can hardly be called happiness.

All of this is done to ensure their own survival and to grasp a happiness greater than the present in the future, taking up weapons to negotiate with their opponents.

The goal and objective are to survive, and the mindset for that is what comes next. You cannot afford to be concerned about the subtleties of the heart while moving forward.

Not being able to afford to wait is nothing more than a time limit until the goal and objective can be achieved.
For oneself, and for the goal and objective as well...
