Remaking! ~Preparation Phase~

(Or so I should be)

Now, this time,

I've sourced a tote bag to remake!

That's the story.
(I bought it specifically to remake it)

Here is what I sourced this time!
What does it look like to you?

I think most people would see it as atote bag.

Some might see it as a"Kitamura leather tote," known for being a high-quality bag that combines reliability and fashion.

Both are correct. However,
to me, it looks like "material as leather."

What I mean is that how things look varies from person to person. Doesn't it feel like it could be fun to look at things differently from others?
(Don't call me twisted...)



In the first place, I don't think there are that many people who look for leather bags just to remake them.Doing things differently from others is fun, right!
(It's fun, isn't it!?)

Now, let's take a closer look at the bag I bought!

The "K" logo stands out against the two-tone navy and vibrant red.KThe bottom corners are scuffed and peeling a bit. The handles are also peeling slightly. The surface has some minor scratches, but they aren't bothersome.

The condition is decent.

Next, the inside.

There's no particular dirt, it's in good shape. Actually, I could just use it as is. Well, I chose one that looked to be in good condition, so that's expected.

Alright then, shall weget started!

First, turning it inside out...

Oh...
The synthetic leather is deteriorating and flaking off. The more I touch it, the more it falls off.
(I made a mess on the floor and got scolded by my wife...)
I thought it looked okay, but the lining is no good; it's finished.

Well, either way,I don't like synthetic leather, so I won't use it(lol)

Pulling myself together

I'm taking it apart!
Taking it apart!?

I would hesitate if it were a bag I was attached to, but since I bought this one secondhand, I'm going for it without reservation.

Even so,I'll work carefully.
To remove the lining, I'll steadily snip the threads one by one.
It really is steady, painstaking work.
Rather than cutting roughly and regretting it later, I'll proceed carefully, even if it might be a waste of time.
Fortunately, I don't mind tedious work (lol).

Yes. It's goodbye to the synthetic leather here.

As an aside, if you want to use something for a long, long time with affection, choose items that use as little synthetic leather as possible. It inevitably deteriorates, cracks, and peels.
It ends up looking visually disappointing...

Genuine leather feels more expensive at the time of purchase, but if you take care of it, you can use it for a lifetime.

If you prioritize cost-performance, go for genuine leather.
If you prioritize looks and want to use things for short periods according to the season or trend, then reasonable synthetic leather is the way to go, I suppose.

Let's make good use of both!

Actually, even this tote bag is still usable, although the exterior is a bit worn.

Now then,let's remove the excess sponge too!

The sponge remaining at the bottom is the part that was glued.
Double-sided tape was used for the adhesive, but it had deteriorated quite a bit, making it a struggle to peel off.
Next, I'll cut all the threads!
It's just endless, steady work.

And here is the state of it after being taken apart ↓

Well, that's it for today.
Once I cut the threads and peeled off the adhesive, I was able to disassemble it cleanly.

I imagine there aren't many people who have experience taking a bag apart.
I did it for the first time too (lol).

Next time (I don't know when that will be), I will use these materials toremake it!

Now, what on earth will be created?
Will it even turn out well in the first place?
If a year or two passes and the follow-up isn't uploaded, then at that time,please read between the lines(lol).
