【Good Things Diary】I've started it!
Episode 39
Hello, I'm Ao😄
The year has turned to 2024.
I'm sure many of you have been thinking about goals and resolutions, right?
Among the many things I thought about, since it's a good turning point, I decided to start keeping a diary from New Year's Day!
So, I've started one, a diary.
It's called【Good Things Diary】
It's very simple.
I only write down good things.
You might hear someone say, "That's not a diary!" but it's not for anyone else to see, it's a diary just for myself.
Why not write whatever I want?
Well, it's not something I came up with myself, but I'm referring to, or rather imitating, the "3-Line Positive Diary" written by STUDY HACER.
I'll leave the specific effects and methods for you to read on STUDY HACER's page, but here I'll write about it roughly, including my own interpretation.
The method is simple!
Since a diary is a daily thing, it won't last unless it's easy, right?
・First, prepare a diary and a pen.
(By the way, I use an A6 size Campus notebook and a blue SARASA ballpoint pen)
・Keep it by your pillow.
・At night, when you get into bed, look back on the day and write down only three good things that happened.
・Go to sleep.
That's it.

Easy, right?
Seems like something you could keep up, right?
Sitting at a desk to write every day is impossible for me.
But keeping an A6 size... A6 size is the same as a paperback book.
Keeping that by my pillow isn't in the way, and it's not impossible to open it and write on it while holding it in my hand.
This size is also a secret to making it easy to continue.
The blue ballpoint pen is simply because it's my favorite color.
Being tied down to something like "ballpoint pens must be black" feels boring and restrictive.
So, I'll look back on the day, recall only the good things, and write them down inbullet points.
By the way, everyone,
are you the type to eat your favorite side dish first?
Or are you the type to eat it last?
I'm the type to eat it last.
I feel like my sense of happiness increases if I end my meal by eating my favorite side dish last and saying
"Ah, that was delicious."
It's the same with this; if I recall only good things right before going to sleep, I think I can fall asleep happily saying
"Ah, it was a good day."
.
That way, I think I'll be able to get good sleep too.
Bullet points are easy and nice, right?
If it's a full sentence, you might not be able to write it well when you're not used to it, and you might end up overthinking it and hating it, so just jotting down bullet points is quick.
This is also a trick to keep it going.
By the way, my diary entry for January 1st is...
"The whole family was able to go and give New Year's greetings to my parents"
"Both my parents were healthy"
"I got New Year's money (lol)"
That's it.
Just that.
Truly simple (lol)
It doesn't make you feel pressured to write a diary, so it seems like it will last, right?
You might think,
There aren't three good things every single day!
In that case, you search for them.
Wondering if something happened.
They say that's also good for the brain.
For example,
「I was able to get a seat on the commuter train in the morning」
「The roads were emptier than usual」
「There were fewer internal phone calls」
「The product I always buy was 10% off」
「It was warmer than yesterday」
When you look for them, surprisingly good things are lying around.
I think recognizing those as good things is also a good thing.
As you repeat this every day, your thinking will also become positive.
And then,
imagine the time when you've finished writing for a whole year!
When you look back at your diary, it's only filled with good things!
Could there be such a happy year!?
Once I imagined that, I wanted to keep writing!
It's only been a week since I started, but I can't wait for a year from now (lol)
So, one of the good things I'm planning to write today is
"The total number of 'likes' on note has exceeded 400!"
Everyone,
thank you so much for always reading,
and for 'liking' my posts!
I would be happy if you could 'like' this article too!
So, this time it was a story about
Good things are always there!
.
See you later!
It was Ao😄
