I illustrated 'how I see the world' and discovered a completely different world
It was so interesting how my husband and I see the world so differently...!
I was curious about how other people see it, so I wrote this article.
To summarize it roughly:
Husband A world like the web or blockchain
Wife A world like a movie screen

We were both like, 'Wait, what do you mean?' while drawing the diagrams.
I will summarize the differences one by one.
Differences in 'how we see the world'
(1) People are fluid vs. fixed

Left diagram = Husband
In my husband's world, apparently people move...!
The white circles in the left diagram.
It seems their movement changes depending on the person / environment.
By the way, it's not just himself, others move too.
He says he moves while watching how others move.
Huh!
Right diagram = Wife
In my world, people don't move.
People are fixed, and it's like moving the frame.
The rectangular part in the right diagram.
In my husband's world, people are fluid.
In my world, people are fixed.
They are completely different from this point on.
(2) Being present / Not being present

Our perceptions of ourselves were also different.
Left diagram = Husband
The white circle in the middle is himself. It seems he and others are in the same space.
Right diagram = Wife
I am outside the screen = in front of the square, and there is a world inside the screen = behind the square where others are.
When he explains it to me, I think, 'Oh, I see.'
I think that, but we can't experience each other's perspective, which is a strange feeling.
(3) Mutual connections
From this point on, I started asking questions.

Left diagram = Husband
Wife What are the lines between the circles?
Husband These are lines connecting people to each other.
It feels like people are connected, kind of like a blockchain.
Wife Are other people connected to each other too?
Husband Yeah.
Wife Can you see the lines between other people as well?
Husband Sort of, yeah.
Wife Wow! That's amazing!! (laughs)
Right diagram = Wife
In my diagram, there are no lines depicted at all.
A world where the feeling of being connected to people (?) is a given.
What must that feel like?
I think it's amazing, but I also find it hard to believe...
I thought I'd like to try being a husband.
(4) Size of people
The last topic we discussed was the size of people.

Left diagram = Husband
Wife Don't people get bigger or smaller?
Husband Yeah, I think they stay the same.
Wife Are you and others the same size?
Husband Yeah, that's right.
Wife By the way, where am I?
Husband Probably somewhere around here, the closest spot.
Wife Oh! (I'm a little happy that I'm close)

Right diagram = Wife
Husband What is this blank space?
Wife That's the object I'm interested in at that moment.
It could be a person or a thing.
Husband Oh, so it's not a blank space, but a really big circle?
Wife Exactly.
Husband Where am I?
Wife These little dots.
Husband These?! (bursts into laughter)
Wife Right now, as we're talking, you're in the big spot in the middle.
When I'm looking at the diagram, the diagram is in the middle, and you are the little dots.
Husband Oh, I see.
(It's a bit late, but I just said 'these little dots are you (=my beloved husband),' and if someone said that to me, I might feel a little sad. Sorry...!)
In other words: It might just be a difference in perspective
After summarizing it again, I thought, perhaps my husband lives in an objective world, while I live in a subjective world.
My husband is very good at looking at things objectively.
From his words, 'I am always watching myself from diagonally above my head,' this image came to mind.

I think he is good at the following things precisely because he has a broad perspective that allows him to see the whole picture.
My husband's characteristics
・Good at objective viewing / multitasking / flexible response (suited for management/generalist roles)
・Sensitive to others' eyes and notices things well
・Interests are broad and shallow
I thought that because my field of vision is limited, I might naturally tend to deepen my focus on one thing and not care about the eyes of others.
My (wife's) characteristics
・Good at deepening focus on one thing (suited for professional/specialist roles)
・Goes at my own pace without worrying about others' eyes
・Interests are narrow and deep
I felt that it made sense that our characteristics are different due to the difference in our perspectives.
What kind of world do you live in?

I never imagined that the way we see the world could be so different.
Since I was born, my own world has been so natural to me that I never even thought about it.
I think there might be other such 'unverbalized, sensory differences' as well.
I thought I should be careful, as it is easy to forget that what is 'natural to me' is not necessarily natural to others.
Anyway, it was interesting.
What did you think?
I am curious about how it is for people other than us, so I would be happy if you could tell me which type you are, or if there is another world that is neither.
Thank you for reading until the end 😄
