Genghis Khan - Started an image word chain (#41)
(#40) Mutual acquaintance → "Jin" → Genghis Khan

"Hey, Benkei, can you hear me?"
"Yes. Reception is excellent."
"Oh! Wow, this thing called a 'cell phone' is amazing. Even though we're this far apart, it's like you're right next to me!"
"Yes... My Lord. It is almost time."
"Hmm? Ah, it's getting a bit noisy. ...Well then, I suppose it's time to run."
"My Lord, you are already surrounded on all sides by Yasuhira's forces."
"Eh? ...No, no, I'm going to escape from here, flee to Ezo, and from there cross over to the continent via Tartary to become Genghis Khan, right?"
"That is merely a preposterous legend from later ages. It is nothing more than a 'wouldn't it be nice' theory, lacking any definitive evidence and filled with forced connections and wordplay."
"Ehh... Oh man, that's no good, is it?"
...Say, since we're at it, I want to ask: couldn't this portrait of mine have been a bit more handsome? I'm actually quite popular in the future, aren't I?"
"..."
"Hello? Hey, Benkei, don't ignore me."
"..."
" ...Ah, that guy, he passed away while standing up (lol). ...Well, can't be helped, I guess I'll be going soon too."
Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
He is a popular figure who would likely always rank high in popularity polls among characters of the Kamakura period, or rather, historical figures in general.
He is so famous that I don't think I need to explain his profile, but to summarize the key points briefly,
he was a military genius who destroyed the Taira clan, and thanks to that achievement, he was favored by the old man yokai in Kyoto, but he was killed in the end because his brother was jealous of that.
---Maybe that was too brief (・_・)
...Or rather, there's a bit of malice in that phrasing.
Regarding Yoshitsune's end, the 'Azuma Kagami', which should be considered the official history of the time, records that he was cornered in Oshu Hiraizumi by the forces of Fujiwara no Yasuhira, who should have been his ally, due to the schemes of his brother, Minamoto no Yoritomo, and finally committed suicide at the Koromogawa mansion.
However, there is a theory that Yoshitsune did not actually die there, but secretly escaped to Ezo.
This is what is known as the 'Yoshitsune Northern Flight Legend'.
Well, regarding this, there are plenty of circumstantial facts that make it understandable why people would think that, so it's hard to blame them.
First, Yoshitsune's head.
According to the 'Azuma Kagami', Yoshitsune's head, after he committed suicide, was 'soaked in fine sake, placed in a black-lacquered box, and sent to Kamakura with Nitta Kanja Takahira as the messenger,' taking43 days.
The 13th day of the 6th month in the old calendar is late July in the current solar calendar. Even starting in the cool Tohoku region, and no matter how high-quality the sake it was soaked in, it is normal for it to be so rotten and mushy by the time of the head inspection that no one would know who it was.
In other words, even if it were a substitute head, no one would know lol, that's what it means.
In fact, Minamoto no Yoritomo issued a secret order to his vassal, Hatakeyama Shigetada, to pursue Yoshitsune less than two years after receiving this report. Wada Yoshimori and Kajiwara Kagetoki performed the head inspection, but it seems they weren't trusted at all lol (Can't be helped).
And as for Hatakeyama Shigetada, who was ordered to pursue him, he did catch up with Yoshitsune's party in the forest of Suwa, but since Shigetada had strong sympathy for Yoshitsune, there is a story that he intentionally missed with his arrows and watched them go without pursuing them further.
By the way, the 'Suwa Daimyojin', the current 'Suwa Shrine' (Kuji City), is where the arrows that stuck into a pine tree at that time were enshrined as a sacred object. There's even physical evidence left behind lol.
Furthermore, starting with this Hatakeyama Shigetada legend, there are quite a number of 'places with a history' that serve as circumstantial evidence for the 'Yoshitsune Northern Flight Legend' from the Tohoku region to Hokkaido.
There was a site that summarized them concisely with local photos, so I'll introduce it here ↓ ↓ ↓
Well, this is just my personal opinion, but I think it's not strange at all that Yoshitsune's party escaped to Ezo. After all, there is various physical evidence and folklore remaining.
However, crossing the continent to become Genghis Khan is a bit much (lol).
After all, there is no reason to cross to the continent.
If it were just to evade Yoritomo's pursuit, Ezo would be enough. Ezo at that time was, in terms of the current image,a proper foreign country.
Furthermore, Yoritomo himself, the pursuer, passed away exactly 10 years after this tragedy at Koromogawa. Since the scary older brother was gone, it seems there would be no reason to be chased anymore. If that's the case, there is even less reason to go to the trouble of crossing over to the continent.
If there were any reason at all, it would only be if he had done something so spectacular in Ezo that he couldn't stay there anymore. ← This, in itself, seems like something the mischievous Yoshitsune would naturally do ^m^
By the way, among the grounds for denying the Minamoto no Yoshitsune = Genghis Khan theory, there was one that approached it from a slightly unusual angle, so I will take it up here.
By examining the Y chromosome, which is constant and unchanging among human genes, one can trace paternal ancestry. According to research using this 'Y-chromosome marker,' 8% of men from Mongolia to Northern China, or about 13 million people, share a common Y-chromosome haplotype, leading to the hypothesis that they are likely descendants of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongol Empire.
And, this Y chromosome is said to be completely absent in Japanese people, and from this, the theory that Minamoto no Yoshitsune = Genghis Khan is also denied.
—Unless it's something unbelievable, like Yoshitsune being a Mongol from the start and being kidnapped by a Tengu immediately after birth and brought to Tokiwa Gozen
( ̄∀ ̄)
Now, since the title of the article is Genghis Khan, it would be odd not to touch on Genghis Khan at all (lol)... or rather, I'm running out of time so I don't have time to touch on it 💦
The second song of the week, |GENGHIS KHAN by '|DSCHINGHIS KHAN' (lol)
This song is super famous for its chorus, so
♪Jin, Jin, Genghis Khan♪
is something everyone can sing. But
after that, almost no one can sing it
is what it is ww
Well, the original lyrics are in German, and the rhythm is tricky, so it's hard to sing. That said, I'll post the lyrics for just the chorus for now.
*Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
Hey rider, ho people, hey rider keep going
Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
Up brother, drink brother, fight brother again and again
Let's get more vodka
Ho ho ho ho
Because we are Mongols
Ha ha ha ha
And the devil will get us soon enough
Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
Hey rider, ho people, hey rider keep going
Dsching, Dsching, Dschinghis Khan
Hey men, ho men, dance men as always
And one hears him laughing
Ho ho ho ho
Laughing louder and louder
Ha ha ha ha
And he empties the mug in one go
By the way, this song is also played at the stadium to celebrate when the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters win at their home stadium, Sapporo Dome.
And even then, the chorus part is
♪Jin, Jin, Genghis Khan♪
Even though the vocals are clearly playing, when it gets to the complicated lyrics that follow, no one sings, and instead, everyone raises both hands and sways them to the rhythm, which is a rather strange way of faking it... or rather, a choreography ( ̄∀ ̄)♪
Since it's unfair to only have people sing Genghis Khan (?), here is one song from the Yoshitsune side—
The third song of the week, Onmyo-za with 'Akki Hangan from the Suite 'Yoshitsune''
(5 minutes 20 seconds)
The music video, which features a collaboration between heavy metal and Noh, has a quite elaborate and beautiful aesthetic.
If you use Daiichi Kosho's Karaoke DAM, you can sing with this music video in the background, so the catharsis is about three times greater (according to our company's comparison) (o^-')b♪
Since it's called a suite, this 'Suite Yoshitsune' doesn't end here; it continues from this 'Akki Hangan' which depicts Yoshitsune's exploits, to '
Muma Enjo' which depicts the conflict between Yoshitsune and Yoritomo and Yoshitsune's escape to Oshu, and '
Raise Kaiko' which depicts the sorrow of the abandoned Shizuka Gozen, making it a three-song composition.
Oh my, oh dear, look at the time. I have to go to cram school (Why?)
With that said,
I hope that tomorrow, as many people as possible
can spend a peaceful day getting along with their siblings 🧡🧡
■ Bonus
This is the car preceding the current image shiritori train (41st car). If anyone felt intrigued by the title 'Mutual Acquaintance' and the joke image, wondering 'What is this?', I would be overjoyed—leaping like Yoshitsune—if you could take a look whenever you have some spare time.
