[My Family Recipe 16] Unshaped Hamburg Steak
I came up with this on a busy day when all I had in the freezer was ground meat. Please forgive me, but I only managed to take a photo of the finished dish (top image).
How to make unshaped Hamburg steak
400g ground meat
1 onion
2 king oyster mushrooms
150g tofu
4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
(Garnish) Potatoes and broccoli to taste
A little olive oil
Finely chop the onion and king oyster mushrooms.
Heat olive oil in a frying pan and sauté the ingredients from step 1 over medium heat. Let cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine the ground meat, tofu, breadcrumbs, and the mixture from step 2, and knead well by hand. Add salt and pepper.
Line an ovenproof dish with parchment paper and spread the meat mixture from step 3 in the center.
Cut the garnish vegetables into bite-sized pieces and arrange them around the edges of the ovenproof dish from step 4.
Bake in an oven at 230°C for about 20 minutes. Once the meat and vegetables are cooked through, it is ready.
I skipped the hassle of shaping the patties and the time spent frying them in a pan. Since it is baked in the oven without adding oil, it is healthy, easy, delicious, and looks great.
On this day, I didn't have enough protein, so I paired this Hamburg steak with a fried egg. If you serve it over white rice and lettuce and top it with store-bought sauce, it becomes a Loco Moco bowl. Please give it a try.
