SCANDAL and Sisters
During the New Year holidays, I went to karaoke with my mom and dad.
It had been so long since we went to karaoke as a family that I couldn't even say how many years it had been.
Even if I count solo karaoke, it had been at least six years since I last went to a karaoke place.
I love singing, so I've always sung at home, but I didn't realize the feeling would be so different from singing alone as I please, so I was a bit confused.
I wonder if having the accompaniment is a good thing or not.
The YOASOBI song I sang best was "The Brave." My biggest failure was "The Blessing."
It was so fast that I felt like the melody and the lyrics on the screen weren't matching up.
Is that a problem with the machine?
Or is it a problem with my perception?
I'm not sure...
By the way, even though there are so many SCANDAL songs out there, they weren't in the karaoke machine, so I felt a bit annoyed and chose "Sisters."
But, I almost burst into tears during that song, "Sisters."
It was just too good of a song.
Hey! sister
Let's go out into the city with an upbeat rhythm
With a shield of humor against the sword of sadness
My sister
Stand up on your own two feet
Wink at the things you fear
And survive it all with style
(Omitted)
The key to heading toward happiness
Is not to let yourself be discouraged by conventional wisdom
Even if you're putting on a brave face, the sword of sadness always hurts. When that happens, just deflect it with a shield of humor.
Don't let yourself get down or discouraged by being refuted by someone, or by the conventional wisdom and logic ringing in your head—just laugh it off.
You are one of a kind.
I had forgotten that I had an ally in SCANDAL.
How reassuring that is.
As I sing it myself, my voice trembles with emotion; I wonder if it's my age.
Hmm...
Reunited with a wonderful song.
I don't think I can ever stop being a SCANDAL fan.
Somehow, it feels like my karaoke spirit has been ignited.
Maybe I should go to karaoke by myself.

Theme: "Swaying"
Sophistry, my swaying goes unnoticed, I want to escape

I've made my decision. I'll find a way to work where I can read books freely.
