Golden Days
This year's Golden Week was split into two halves.
Things I want to do during Golden Week
・Make fried chicken
・Sharpen kitchen knives
・Wash the carpet at the laundromat
・Wash the curtains
・Wash the entryway mat and kitchen mat
・Clean the unit bath drain (groove?) and ventilation fan
・Go to a bookstore and try buying a workbook for the chef's exam
・Get a vision test before my health checkup and have my glasses fitted at an optician
・Buy postcards and stationery sets
・Read books
・Do some coloring
・Go out
・Make a day trip to my parents' house
・Write letters
So, how did it go?
I managed to do 12 out of the 14 things.
The ones I couldn't do were washing the carpet and coloring.
I'm still debating whether I should take up the carpet, as it still feels slightly chilly. If I take it up, a cotton quilt carpet will appear from underneath, but I want to wash it before using it...
Hmm. The weather is either nice, or bad. Or maybe just unstable.
While I was waiting for the right timing, I missed the chance to take it up and wash it.
When I had my vision tested at the optician, it was confirmed by the numbers that my vision feels like it's getting worse when I wear my glasses.
My current glasses are for close-up work (probably extremely so), so at the distance used for vision testing, I actually can't see well, and my vision is better with the naked eye.
Even that naked-eye vision isn't great, so I'll likely be in trouble sooner or later.
If I don't get glasses for distance, it won't just be a problem for my health checkup, but also for renewing my driver's license.
So that's what I found out.
It's a hassle, but it can't be helped.
I decided to go to an ophthalmologist soon.
Next, the things I was able to do during Golden Week.
I made fried chicken, washed the curtains, and managed to do some cleaning and go out.
Great!!
As a bonus, I also challenged myself to a voice post (note) for the first time in a while.
Since the last time was in February, quite a bit of time has passed, but I'm glad I was able to do it again.
I wonder what I should do next.
Also, I bought a paid note for the first time.
I won some points, so I gathered the courage to do it.
Because people go out of their way to pay money to read paid articles, I personally hesitate again and again to publish my own.
However, after actually buying one, I felt that if something written with such passion were purchased, the author would be incredibly happy.
There must be pressure to write a good article, and the feeling that one must write something that won't be disrespectful to those who bought it.
But if you can write it, it's wonderful. I also think it would be a great confidence booster.
I don't know if I will write paid articles in the future, but I intend to cherish the article I purchased as a reference and continue writing my own.
It was a good opportunity to reflect on how much I have been writing without thinking at all.
I realized that there is so much I can do, like thinking and reasoning things through.
I think this year's Golden Week was a good holiday where I was able to do many things and explore a new way of living for myself.
It's tough to be dazed after the holidays, but I intend to face things with a fresh mindset again.
Farewell, golden days.
Come on! Golden days!
[Today's English Composition]
They say a wedding is the highlight of one's life, but is that true?
They say a wedding ceremony is a big moment in life, but can it be true?
