Learn Syntax in the Landlord and Tenant Problem Intensive Course
I have started a Skype course on planetary rulers, or the landlord and tenant problem.I have started it.
*Updated July 2026: It is now a video course.
Once you understand it, it is so useful that you will think, 'I can't imagine reading a chart without this,' but for some reason, it doesn't seem to have permeated Japanese Western astrology culture very much.
In translated Western astrology books,
'The Sun in Aries, which rules the 7th house, is ruled by Mars in Capricorn in the 12th house.'
expressions like this appear frequently. If you replace this with landlord and tenant,
'The landlord Sun of the 7th house (with Aries on the cusp) works in the 3rd house (with Aries on the cusp) and pays rent to Mars in Capricorn in the 12th house.'
it becomes this. If you replace this withDollhouse Reading,it becomes
'Mickey Mouse, the person in charge of the reception room, is active in the attraction and contributes to the secret fun of the Disney Resort.'
(Dollhouse Reading ishere.)
These appear one after another in the middle of a conversation without any preamble or explanation. You frown, thinking, 'Huh? What?' and flip back and forth through the pages multiple times to find the corresponding chart and house, and only after confirming, 'Ah, that's what this is,' do you continue reading. That's what translated Western astrology books are like, isn't it?
However, once you get used to it, you can read them smoothly. Especially in horary astrology, the conversation cannot proceed without this. I would like to explain with examples how useful it is once you understand it.
'C in sign B, which rules house A, is ruled by F in E in house D.'
'The Sun in Aries, which rules the 7th house, is ruled by Mars in Capricorn in the 3rd house.'
In this example, reading it as a natal chart reveals how to improve marriage luck. This person's purpose in marriage is to activate communication. Since the content of the conversation is about secret pleasures, it might be rumors that cannot be made public or topics of deep hobbies. This person wants to talk with their partner about topics that fall outside modern common sense, such as the occult or spiritual matters, topics that are not taken seriously as 'unscientific,' or grand problems like saving the world, which are often dismissed as fairy tales. That is this person's view on marriage.
If that is the case, marriage hunting that uses dating techniques to pretend to be a normal person is unlikely to succeed. It would likely have a higher success rate to focus from the beginning on hobby gatherings where outsiders cannot enter, such as otaku marriage hunting.
If you read the symbolism including the signs, this person hates nothing more than pretending to be someone else for the sake of others. 'A sincere partner relationship is showing your true self without hiding anything' is this person's view on marriage. That said, because they have a stronger desire to be recognized by their partner than anyone else, they tend to exaggerate their stories a bit. Their way of speaking is quite active, and they seek realistic grounds for arguments. Since they don't listen much to stories without grounds or evidence, the topic is likely to change one after another.
It is useless to give advice to such a person like 'Aim to be a good listener,' 'Liven up the conversation with standard responses to make the other person feel good,' or 'Wear safe, clean-looking fashion.' It would be better to talk to a wall than to do such things.
Deconstructing Sentences
The Sun in Aries, which rules the 7th house, is ruled by Mars in Capricorn in the 12th house.
The ruler (the Sun) of the cusp sign of the 7th house (Leo, since the Sun rules it), which governs partnerships, is shining in the 3rd house, which governs communication. Therefore, this person seeks a partner to talk to. The landlord of the 7th house uses the 7th house for the purposes of the 3rd house. Spending time with someone who cannot be a conversation partner or someone from whom one cannot learn is a waste of time.
The flow of conversation (3rd house, Aries) is governed by Mars in Capricorn, which rules secret pleasures (12th house). This person dislikes exposing their ambition or fighting spirit. However, their critical awareness of issues (Mars in Capricorn is prepared to do anything to survive the winter) appears in the edges of their speech. This person wants to share that with their partner.
Once you can read this far, all that remains is to think of situations that fit these significations. Where can one build a relationship that shares such topics and engages in active discussion? An NPO active on the battlefield, an illegal organization rising in the underworld, an artist who hides the fact that they are a wall circle organizer, a Western astrologer who gets hooked on fortune-telling and pays for premium content on note, that person in Shinjuku at night, that person sung about as the stars of Nakasu. Find a place where you can speak heart-to-heart with such people. That will be the secret to the success of this person's marriage hunting.
How about it? It's convenient, isn't it?
Why are there so few books covering the landlord-tenant issue?
Since the horoscope covers all the myriad things in life, if you can identify the house, theoretically, you can analyze any problem by applying the landlord-tenant model. When you want to know about a house, look at the owner of the 4th house and the tenant of the 4th house. If you want to know the purpose of life, look at the owner of the AC. If you want to improve your motivation to learn, sharpen a sluggish lifestyle, awaken the excitement of love, or know the cause of an inheritance dispute, these can all be deduced from the relationship between the landlord and the tenant.
Why is it that despite being so convenient, it is hardly touched upon in Japanese Western astrology books?
Many Japanese Western astrology books explain the combinations of planets, signs, and houses by brute force as much as possible. This is an effective way to attract light readers who only want to read the parts that apply to them, and it is convenient to use like a dictionary. On the other hand, I feel that many translated Western astrology books explain concepts and theories, and only take up one or two examples or summarize the combinations of planets, signs, and houses in a single line.
Japanese Western astrology books are like travel handbooks that have everything written down, such as 'Where is the station?', 'Where is the hotel?', and 'Where is the restroom?', while translated Western astrology books are like English grammar books that only have 'Where is...?' written in them.
If you write down the combinations of rulers, signs, houses, and planets in the house using the Japanese brute-force style, it becomes a huge amount. If you take the combination of '1st house Aries, Mars in Aries' with house, sign, and the house where the ruler is located, 144 patterns appear per house, and if you do this by brute force, 1728 patterns are created.
To write this, assuming one explanation takes 20 minutes including revisions, it would take 576 hours, 72 days at 8 hours a day, about 3 months if you keep writing alone for 20 days a month, or half a year to a year if you do it slowly for a few hours a day. If you summarize this into 12 patterns per A4 sheet, that's 144 sheets, and if it's 12 patterns per book spread, that's 288 pages. How about it? Don't you think that's quite a volume? Personally, I would like to finish writing it someday, though.
Intensive Course on Landlord and Tenant Issues
Therefore, for those who are looking for the brute-force style, please wait a while, as I have planned a Skype course for those who want to learn syntax in the English grammar style. This is not a course that explains by brute force, but a course that teaches three syntaxes and how to develop them.

This is a one-time course where you can learn the two functions of stars—as a ruler and as a planet in a house—in an easy-to-understand way by comparing them to a landlord and a tenant. I turned the topic that had a big response on Twitter and note into a Skype course.
Two classes have already finished, but I would like to continue in the future, so if it is difficult to participate this time, please look forward to the next time. That said, I don't know when the next time will be, so I hope you will make every effort to participate.
