[Planner Techniques] How to Use Handwritten Planners & Notebooks (To Make Your Wish List Come True✨️)

Good evening, everyone🌛 This is umi.

Today, I'm continuing from my previous post to introduce my schedule-related items and my miscellaneous notebook.

Click here for the previous post👇️

I'm introducing what I summarize in my notebook by category. Let's
“book time for yourself” and make your Wish List come true✨️

Click here for the post before last👇️

I introduce my planner history, the reason I decided to start using a planner again, and the apps I use.

If you are thinking of starting a planner, are unsure how to use one, have a deep love for planners, or want to see how others use theirs, please feel free to take a look✨️

📒 Planners I use

・MUJI Refill Notebook A5 size

Top: Planner Middle: Miscellaneous notebook

I use three notebooks for different purposes.
・Black → Schedule-related
・Craft 1 → Wish List & Log-related
(📒Introduced in the previous post
・Craft 2 → Miscellaneous notebook

I used to use a system planner, but since I only carry it when I go to cafes, I chose a size that is easy to write in.

Because... my presbyopia makes it hard to read and write small letters😭
So, reading glasses (don't tell me to stop trying to sound cool? Yes, I mean reading glasses lol) are an essential item during my planner time👓️

Here is a rough overview👇️

Now, let's take a closer look at each one🎵

📒 1st Notebook: Schedule Planner (Black)

📒 Annual Schedule & Future Log

Annual Schedule & Future Log

Created so I can grasp my annual schedule✨️
I use this as a basis to plan things I want to do and outings.

🖊️ Stationery I use

・MUJI 2mm grid refill
・Mildliner
Mild Beige, Mild Dusty Pink
・SARASA Clip 0.5 Vintage Color Brown/Gray
・SHEIN Clear Stamps

💡 Things to do before the new fiscal year starts

1) Fill in annual events
(Photo: Beige checkbox section)

💡Tip💡
It's useful when sorting out your Wish List ✨️
Like saying, "Oh, my eldest daughter has exams this week, so let's pick a different day" 👍️

For that reason, I only include school events for the kids, such as regular tests and school functions. I track things like health checkups using an app.

2) Create a 2024 Wish List based on your 100-item Wish List
(Created on a separate sheet as the 2024 Wish List)

・Regular Wish List (things like going to X, eating Y, etc.)
・Monthly Wish List
I divide them into these two categories.

By the way, as for this year's monthly Wish List...
・Reading (1-2 books per month)
・Planner time
・Going to cafes
・Watching movies (1-2 per month)
・Maintaining home cooking (over 90% home-cooked rate)
・Trying new recipes
・Expressing gratitude in words
・Doing today's tasks today
・Maintaining weight (in the 47-48kg range)

3) [Important 💡] Sort the 2024 Wish List items by month
(Photo: Pink checkbox section)

As I wrote in yesterday's post, just writing a Wish List won't make it come true! On this page, I roughly "book myself" for each month ✨️ And from there, I further break it down into weekly and daily tasks ✨️"book myself"It's useful to know the kids' schedules when doing this, which is why I fill them in during step 1) 😆

4) Write items that couldn't be scheduled in the margins or on sticky notes
I recommend using sticky notes because you don't have to erase anything and it's easy to move them around ✨️

5) Write monthly routine tasks in the margins
(Bottom left: Monthly section)
This is for To-Dos, not the Wish List.
Things like going to the bank or closing out the household budget.

💡 Monthly tasks

6) Decide on goals for every 3 months
It's important to set realistic goals, like how you want to be ✨️

As for my goals...
・Writing with beautiful penmanship
・Creating an ending note

7) Add anything you want to your Wish List at the beginning of the month
I write down even small things.
Like, "I want to eat bread from that bakery!" 😆

8) Check the checkboxes at the end of the month
How to check:
・Completed → ✅️
・Carry over to next month (or later) → >
・Remove → ✗

When I carry something over, I write it in the month I postponed it to as soon as I mark it with a >.
Otherwise, I'll probably forget 💦

📒 Monthly Cover

Monthly Cover

🖊️ Stationery I use

・MUJI Refill Notebook Drawing Paper
・MUJI Sticky Note Schedule Monthly
・SARASA Clip Refill 0.3 (Body: HI-TEC-C)
・SHEIN Dual Tip Brush Pen
・Masking tape, stickers, etc.

I choose 2-3 colors that feel like that month and keep everything unified with those colors ✨️
I write down major schedules (kids' exams, school festivals, etc.), To-Do lists, and also add things like dining out or shopping.

🖊️ A hack for the HI-TEC-C pen in the photo ✨️

I love how easy SARASA pens are to write with, but I don't really like the body (sorry 💦).
However,If you cut the SARASA Clip refill, it fits into the HI-TEC-C body!!!I discovered this, so ever since then, I've been using SARASA refills in this champagne gold body 😆
They don't seem to make the champagne gold one anymore, so I have to take good care of it!

📒 Monthly

Second photo

🖊️Stationery I use

・MUJI Refill Notebook Monthly
・Pens used for monthly colors

📒Prepared for 2 months

・1st sheet → 1-line diary
[Margin] Money → Monthly balance, savings for children
Health → Weight, BMI, body fat, body age

2nd sheet → Dinner menu & Bento menu
     [Margin] New menu

I used to write my dinner menu in the weekly section, but I prefer seeing everything on a two-page spread, so now I summarize it in the monthly section.

📒Weekly

Weekly

🖊️Stationery I use

・MUJI Refill Notebook Plain
・Pens used for monthly colors
・SHEIN Clear Stamps
・SHEIN Date Stickers
・HI-TEC-C (refilled with SARASA Clip 0.3)
・Colored pencils

The weekly section is also unified with the month's theme color✨️
And the outfit log that inspired me to start a handwritten planner😊
Since I'm basically off on Wednesdays and Sundays, I write a simple diary entry there. When I want to write more, I sometimes write in a miscellaneous notebook.

Bottom part of the calendar
・To Do
・Wish List
Based on the list I broke down into months in the annual schedule & Future Log 3), I decide on the specific dates here in more detail and”book myself”✨️

The flow for making my wishes come true is like this.
・Create a list of 100 things I want to do
→ Narrow it down to the year by creating a 2024 Wish List
→ Break it down into months in the annual schedule
→ Decide on the weeks and specific dates in the weekly section

📒2nd Notebook: Logs (Craft 1)

I summarize my logs in this notebook✨️

💡1st page

I've summarized the things I wanted to write when I bought the planner.

1st page

💡Cafe Log

Cafe Log

💡Log List

・Planner IDEA
・100 Things to Do
・2024 Wish List
・Monthly Wish List
・Reading
・Cinema
・Shopping
・Dramas, Anime
・Memorable Quotes
・Family (Children, school, work, parents, siblings, in-laws, ex-husband's contact info)

I've summarized the details in my previous article, so please feel free to check it out if you'd like✨️

📒 3rd Notebook: Miscellaneous Notes (Craft 2)

Just as the name suggests, it's a notebook for writing down whatever comes to mind📒

Date
For monthly use
For titles

It's a notebook where you can really write anything, like illustrations you can use in your planner or long diary entries🗒️
When I decide on theme colors for the month, I also write them here to think about combinations✨️

With this, the planner techniques I've introduced over three parts come to a close for today✨️

Thank you so much for reading this far💕
To those who liked or followed, I'd be happy if you came back to visit again😊
