3-Line Daily Life Diary | The Assertive Toilet
The lid of my toilet at home opens and closes automatically.
Lately, it has been malfunctioning.
The normal operation is for the toilet lid to open the moment the door is opened. It is set to close automatically about a minute after leaving the toilet, even if the lid was left open.
Lately, however, the lid is always open.
Since I am used to seeing the lid closed, I am momentarily startled when it is open and waiting for me.
After trying various things, it turns out that it is indeed a malfunction.
Since the lid is always open, I close it myself before leaving the toilet.
After a while, I hear a 'bang' sound from the toilet, and for some reason, it is open. Creepy.
It is doing the exact opposite of what it should be doing. (I want it to be closed, if only for the seat warming function.)
I tried unplugging and plugging it back in, but the same phenomenon occurs.
I tried turning off the automatic open/close function.
Then I hear a 'beep' sound. (Since the function is off, the lid does not open.)
Perhaps the toilet seat recognizes that the lid is not opening, as I hear 'beep, beep, beep' from the toilet repeatedly.
It is being incredibly assertive.
I still want to avoid bending over, so I plan to live with it like this for a while. Will this even get fixed?
