Let's look for what we have in common🔍

The other day, I participated in the
Yuru-Paddock hosted by Chainner-san.
The guest was Nakayoshi Gakuen's Yuichi Nakamura-san.

Nakamura-san, who provides educational support in eight countries across Asia and Africa...
even though he is doing something amazing while putting himself in danger,
he speaks about it with a smile, effortlessly and fluently.
Yet, even within that friendly tone,
the passion that seeps through is incredible...

My first impression was
that he is a very intelligent person.
There might be others who do amazing things on their own,
but I don't think there are many people who can involve those around them and create sustainable systems.

And above all,
the story that struck a chord with me...

We humans are creatures that
find differences and
attack and discriminate.

It was an eye-opening moment.
If it is an instinct to fear the unknown,
then perhaps this cannot be helped.
If that is the case,
in order to coexist peacefully,
we must consciously
look at the things we have "in common."

This seems obvious, but
don't you think we aren't doing it?

It seems humans are built to notice where things are lacking...

I thought this has something in common with Easy Japanese and
the 'Easy Ear' mindset.

Easy Japanese is Japanese devised to be easy to understand
even for those who find it difficult to understand the language,
but it is also the work of searching for points where we can understand each other—in other words,
finding common ground.
Like tuning🪛🛠 language.
That becomes
searching for commonalities with the other person.

Instead of being self-righteous, thinking 'I am right, I won't accept things that are different, why don't they understand when I'm telling them it's like this?',
we should consider that there might be a different meaning,
that there might be worlds we don't know
outside of our own.
Where is the Anywhere Door🚪
that connects those places?
I want to have the eyes to find that entrance.

I want to have
an 'Easy Ear' and 'Easy Eyes'
that look for what we have in common,
not what is different🍀
