The screen is wide! So, what does that mean? I feel like this whole movie is a tall tale.
First of all, the main plot of this film is a story within a story. It is said that a certain author wrote a book based on a story he heard from the owner of a dilapidated hotel.
However, the author is already dead at the beginning, and the timelines do not match up.
The story told is an adventure tale about an eccentric concierge and an orphan of war bellboy involving an inheritance. While watching it enjoyably, I suddenly feel, "Is this a tall tale?"
The reason is that the entire background is always visible in the footage, and it does not focus on the characters.
It is a superb technique that makes everything feel like a black comedy on stage!
