[Short-Short] Reconciliation Theater
White waves are crashing against the steep cliff.
Shizuko argued with Mitsuo in a voice loud enough to rival the sound of the waves.
"It's common sense to squeeze the toothpaste tube gradually from the bottom! Why do you always squeeze it right from the middle!"
"That's my business! You're the one who always has the toilet paper roll facing the wrong way! Why does it start from underneath? It should come over the top!"
Their pleasant trip was ruined by a single comment about needing to buy toothpaste on the way home. But they couldn't stop now. Aided by the dramatic setting atop a cliff, their tension showed no signs of subsiding.
"You two, calm down. Stop arguing in a place like this."
Even though it was early autumn, it was still muggy, yet a man in a black trench coat called out to them.
"Oh, sorry. Who are you?"
"Heh, my apologies for the late introduction. I am... Eiichiro Funakagoshi, the one who transcends discord."
"..."
Without seeming to care about the distance Shizuko and the others were putting between them, the man continued.
"I've heard the gist of the incident. The real culprits... are you two. Yes, neither one is to blame. It's natural to think your own way is the right way. But if you've decided to live together, you must change for each other. There is no 'someday.' The turning point is always now. Right here, right now."
Shizuko and Mitsuo huddled together and, saying "Yes... we understand," left the cliff as if fleeing.
The man left behind on the cliff had his trench coat fluttering in the wind.
"As many incidents as there are cliffs, huh..."
The man's words reached no one, and were drowned out and vanished into the strong wind.

I've never actually watched the Tuesday Suspense Theater, though.
