On August 27th, Kamen Rider Geats reached its final episode. I would like to write down my thoughts after watching the Kamen Rider Geats TV series for a year.
How was this series?
As for this Kamen Rider, honestly, it has become one of my top five favorite works. Wow, it was so interesting! Also, I have never been this hooked on a Kamen Rider series before. I ended up buying quite a few of the toys within my budget.
My number one favorite work is Kamen Rider W, but that was a show that aired when I was a child, and it was only recently that I watched it with a proper understanding of the content. Due to the nostalgia factor from my childhood, W remains number one.
So, excluding W, Geats is one of my top-contending favorite works.
The visuals are cool!
While many recent Kamen Rider series feature quite bold designs, I liked that Geats had a design that at first glance I thought was cool.
The form you just saw is the base form, yet it only appeared a few times on TV, so the excitement when it appeared was incredible. The excitement when it appeared in the final episode was also incredible.
Unpredictable story structure
One of the charms of Geats is that it has a story structure that is unpredictable in a good way. The motif of Geats is a battle royale game. From the beginning to the first half of the middle, there is a sense of suspense about who will survive the game, which is very interesting. From the second half of the middle, the story approaches its core, and the resolution of various foreshadowing and unexpected developments make it interesting as well. Thanks to this, there was no mid-series slump, which is common in Kamen Rider. I think this is amazing.
Furthermore, Geats has a style that delves into quite meta territory. The irony directed at us viewers and the social satire are extremely effective. It is to the point where I want geeks to watch it at least once.
The only complaint
The only complaint about Geats is the Premium Bandai rush in the Genesis arc.
Toei Tokusatsu must incorporate Bandai's toy promotions into the script. For some reason, Bandai wants to sell a large amount of made-to-order toys toward the end of the series. Because of that, the script is forced to change, leading to some convenient plot developments, but this is likely the result of forcibly incorporating Bandai's promotions. Moreover, since they are made-to-order, the downside is that the products do not arrive immediately. Therefore, some people may rate the Genesis arc of Geats poorly. I can understand that feeling.
Products don't arrive immediately. The script falls apart. Since they sell in large quantities, I also run out of money. Furthermore, Premium Bandai also charges for shipping. There are many disadvantages for us. It seems like nothing but Bandai's own convenience. There are benefits, such as having upgrade forms appear in the final stages, but I really want them to do something about this.
If you keep wishing, will your wish come true?
The show said, 'If you keep wishing, it will surely come true,' but I think that is a bit of an understatement, or perhaps it could be misleading. Even if you wish, your wish will not come true unless you take action to accompany it. That is what I believe. Therefore, I personally think that what this work wanted to convey is 'Fight for your wishes!' Don't forget the mindset of wishing, put it into action, and make your wish come true. And the one who embodies this is none other than Fuku Suzuki!
He had always wanted to become a Kamen Rider. I think he never forgot that mindset and made various efforts. He kept saying on variety shows and other programs, 'I love Kamen Rider. I want to transform into a Kamen Rider,' and he must have made various efforts. And in this work, he transformed into Kamen Rider Ziin. It could be said that his appearance in Kamen Rider Geats and his transformation were inevitable.
Many modern people suppress their own wishes and aim to become company employees. I think this is also a message to those people. Why don't those who read this article take a moment to re-examine their own dreams and wishes? I will certainly re-examine mine as well.

This is the transformation sound that played when Ace came to defeat Suel. It is truly 'Fight for your wishes!' I will also fight for my wishes from now on. Maybe I'll make it my personal motto.
