[Registration Closed] Announcement of the '33-Day Writing x Running' Challenge

People have always told me, 'You have fingers that look like you could play the piano,' but I don't even know the basics of the keyboard.
Also, people often say I have an air of being a good writer, but that's a lie, too. I just look like I'm good at it; I'm not actually good. It's like that disappointment when you fillet a fish that looked delicious, only to find the meat is sparse. Well, maybe it's not that bad.

Anyway, I don't have a license called talent. I've made it this far driving completely without a license.

The reason someone like me is now making a living by 'writing' is simply because of habit. It's not talent; it's just a lifestyle habit.
For example, I write essays with the same feeling as washing my face or taking a bath.
I update my note just like I brush my teeth before bed.
To put it in cool terms, this is called a routine, but in reality, it feels more like 'someone who can't do anything else.'

But you know, this feeling of 'it feels gross if I don't do it' might actually be stronger than talent.

Talent is moody, isn't it?
When you're in a good mood, it comes down like a bolt of lightning, but on bad days, it's completely absent. It doesn't even go to voicemail.

Habit is dutiful. Just as you think 'let's eat' when you're hungry, you think 'time to write' at a set time every day.

That's why I trust habit—that plain family member who says 'welcome home' at the door every day—more than talent, that 'legendary rare character who only appears once a month.'

But you know, habits are surprisingly annoying, too. Even when I think I'll wake up early to write, the futon coaxes me to 'stay a little longer,' my smartphone tempts me with 'you have notifications,' and before I know it, I'm opening a can of beer in front of the fridge. Hey, where's the habit in that? That's a completely defeated Sunday.

Even so, I write.
Actually, days where I think, 'I drank alcohol, but I'll just write 200 characters for now,' are the most important ones.

Habit teaches us that it's stronger to put out 50-point work every day than to aim for perfection and never take a single step.

Only those who continue will eventually 'be considered to have had talent.'

So, this is a daily posting project.

The '66-Day Writing x Running' event held last year was an event where we posted articles every day for 66 days without a break.

In January, we held the '15-Day Writing x Running' and challenged ourselves to 15 consecutive days of posting.

And this time.

It's 33 consecutive days of posting.

From Thursday, May 29th to Monday, June 30th.

I'm adding a hurdle for the character count of each article.
300 characters or more. I've increased it from last time.

For those who can write and think, 'That's easy!', you are of course welcome to write more than 300 characters.

If you can't post for 33 consecutive days, or if you post something with 299 characters or less, that's a mission failure. I'll be strict about this.

Also, it must be 'text posts only'.
Participation via audio posts is not allowed.

Anyone is free to participate.
You don't have to be in the After-School Writing Club to join.

If you comment on this article to express your intent to participate, I will invite you after I create the '33-Day Writing-Run Magazine'.
*Those who commented on yesterday's article have already been added to the participant list.

Let's go over the rules one more time.
