When you praise others, you feel happy too
When I find something good about someone, I make an effort to say it out loud and tell them.
Searching for points to praise by asking, "Is there anything I can compliment?" feels insincere.
When I am praised like that, I feel a sense of discomfort, and while I appreciate that they went out of their way to find something to praise, I also feel a bit guilty.
That is why I make an effort to convey to others only the "points of praise" that I feel from the bottom of my heart.
only the points of praiseto the other person.
If I feel, "You've gotten cuter lately, haven't you?" I just say it as it is.
When I do that, they might respond with, "Oh! I'm so happy! Actually, I've lost a little weight," and I realize that my observation wasn't entirely wrong.
Sometimes, being praised through someone else feels even better than being praised directly, doesn't it?
For example, at work, hearing something like, "Senior colleague so-and-so was surprised at how much you've grown!"
I believe it is perfectly fine to keep passing on such positive feedback.
Seeing the person's face light up, and then watching them work with more energy afterward, makes me feel happy too.
I believe there is no downside to telling someone what you truly think is good about them from the bottom of your heart.
The key is not to just offer lip service, but to only convey the things you truly think are wonderful.
I sometimes forget to say these things out loud, but when I do share the good points, the other person is happy, and seeing that makes me happy as well.
That is why, from now on, I want to keep telling people directly about their good qualities without forgetting.
