Hot! I tried Katashina Village's famous green onion miso grilled rice ball
[818 Musubi] Yamakoya (Katashina Village) Green Onion Miso Grilled Rice Ball
What's really interesting about continuing the 1000-day rice ball challenge is, without a doubt, when I encounter local rice balls eaten in different regions.
It makes me feel like I've gotten closer to that region not just in distance, but also through my stomach, which makes me strangely happy.
I encountered such a delightful rice ball, so I wanted to share it with you all.

In the highland area leading to Mount Nikko-Shirane, beautiful lakes like Marunuma and Suganuma spread out.
The bright blue sky is refreshing!
I feel like the color of the sky is deeper here than in the city.
(I haven't edited the photo at all)

Nearby, there is a place called "Yamakoya" that serves as a drive-in where you can take a break.

Inside the shop, there is also a soba and udon corner, and it's quite bustling.

Something like this was written on the counter.
"Special Handmade Green Onion Miso Grilled Rice Ball"
We have been eating this in Katashina Village for a long time.
Please enjoy the feeling of being a villager!
Oh, but there aren't any left in the basket...
I wonder if they're sold out.
I thought that, so I asked the staff.
To my surprise, they said they would make some for me.
Yes!

It came out served on something like a skillet!
This is my first time seeing this type!

Along with the also-famous suiton (dumpling soup)!
A generous amount of green onion miso on top of a crispy grilled rice ball!
Hafu.
Every time I take a bite, the savory aroma of the green onion miso spreads through my mouth.
It's simple, yet has a deep flavor.
As it was written on the handwritten sign earlier, I can really get a taste of what it's like to be a villager.
Finished it all along with the vegetable-packed suiton!
A rice ball that lets you taste the charm of the region.
It's the best.
Thank you for the meal!
You'll definitely become a fan! The dazzling world of grilled rice balls
I'd like to make an updated version too.
