"I will write your tanka" has ended. Thank you very much.
Hello.
My name is Tsuru.
Even though I was thinking of just reading on note over the New Year holidays,
I ended up launching this trial project.
As the title suggests, the content is that
I would like to write out the tanka
that you have composed.
As for the writing tools, I will write them
on postcard-sized copy paper
using a fountain pen or a brush pen.
I love writing characters.
That is why I am launching this project.
Regarding the application period,
from today (December 28, 2023)
until Saturday, January 20, 2024.
That is the period
I would like to set.
I don't know if there is any demand for this, but
personally, I just wanted to write
the tanka composed by others.
It's not just between us, but
I will also accept haiku, senryu, and dodoitsu
.
Past works are also fine. You can request as many as you like.
In the comment section of this article,
please write one tanka or
one haiku per comment.
I will take some time,
and I hope to upload and update
what I have written in this article sequentially.
Contrary to my desire to spend the New Year holidays leisurely,
it seems I cannot rest my hands from creating.
I apologize.
Depending on my physical condition,
the deadline may shift,
so I ask for your kind understanding.
Well then, I will begin slowly.

Postscript
The works I have written
belong to the author.
Please feel free to handle them as you wish, as the author.
Thank you for your understanding.
☆彡 Notice
As of this moment,
I am ending this project, "I will write your tanka."
Thank you.
To everyone who participated,
and to everyone who took a look,
I offer my gratitude.
Thank you very much.
Writing the poetry composed by others.
I must say, it was a very interesting endeavor.
It was a good experience.
If I come up with another fun idea,
I would like to launch another project.
Thank you for your support.
Once again, I offer my thanks.
Wishing you a wonderful note life.

First piece
Shien Satake

For the first piece, I decided to go with
an unconventional style.
As for the image,
I aimed for a calligraphy style like the flow of a river.
I used a 0.28mm
ballpoint pen.
While also being conscious of Japanese sentiment.
Satake-san, thank you very much.
☆彡
Second piece
Mutsuki Harunaga-sama

I felt a mystical quality in Harunaga-san's poem.
I aimed for a style of writing that was also conscious of the visuals.

I wrote it using a 0.28mm ballpoint pen.

I hope I was able to express the cold feeling of the universe through the thinness of the lines.

Harunaga-san, thank you very much.
(I have corrected and updated the omission of the dakuten.)

Third piece
Tomone-sama

This is Tomone-san's tanka.
I aimed for ordinary calligraphy, but
I wrote only the "happiness" part in smaller characters,
keeping standard script in mind.
Tomone-san, thank you for the lovely poem.
thank you for the lovely poem.
☆彡
Fourth piece
Tomone-sama

This is Tomone-san's haiku.
With a feeling of straightening my posture,
I wrote it while keeping authentic standard script in mind.
I wrote it while keeping authentic standard script in mind.
I am glad I made it in time for the New Year's Eve bell.
Thank you for the lovely haiku,
Tomone-san.
☆彡
Fifth piece
rira-sama

This is rira-san's haiku.
I used both a ballpoint pen and a fountain pen.
While keeping the "glowing" atmosphere in mind,
I focused on writing with care.
rira-san, thank you very much
for your wonderful poem.
☆彡
Sixth piece
Even so, Mother

This is a tanka by Kore-kaasan.
It was very poetic and lovely.
I felt inspired by the words "moonlight,"
and
I aimed for a style of writing that makes it look as if the moon is in the sky.
I used a blue-black fountain pen.
I hope you like it.
Kore-kaasan, thank you as always.
This is what came out.
☆彡
Seventh piece
kounotori-sama

This is kounotori-san's tanka.
Although it was my first time seeing a kite,
a Baramon kite,
it was a very auspicious and spirited-looking kite with a demon painted on it.
Since you wrote about a "headwind,"
I felt the force in the wind, so I sought power in the calligraphy as well.
I used a brush pen.
I wanted to write it so fully
that it would barely fit
on the postcard size.
kounotori-san,
thank you very much.
☆彡
Eighth piece
Keika Nishino-sama

This is Keika Nishino-san's tanka.
The lights of the tower are truly symbolic,
it is a lovely poem,
and I expressed the quality of the light using special effects.
For the calligraphy, I aimed for
neat, refined characters that do not show too much emotion.
I wrote it with a blue-black fountain pen.
Keika Nishino-san, thank you very much
for letting me write this.
☆彡
Ninth piece
Haru~ to Tomoni-sama

This is a haiku by Haru~ to Tomoni-san.
Soon, a drama about
Murasaki Shikibu will begin on television.
As a tanka poet myself, this is
something I am interested in.
Upon reading your poem,
I wanted to create calligraphy that was conscious of the color purple,
and since it felt like a somewhat innovative creation,
I decided to write it using
a blue-black fountain pen and
incorporated horizontal writing.
Haru~ to Tomoni-san,
thank you very much
for letting me write this.
☆彡
Tenth piece
Yuzu-sama

The tenth piece is a haiku by Yuzu-san.
You sent me three haiku for your three children.
This is the first one.
You wrote this while thinking of
your eldest daughter, who was born in winter.
While reflecting on a mother's feelings,
I tried my best to bring both the illustration
and the calligraphy together.
Yuzu-san, thank you.
☆彡
Eleventh piece
Yuzu-sama

Yuzu-san, this is the second of your three haiku.
You wrote this about your
second daughter born in summer.
It is difficult to draw pictures of children, but
I tried to present it with love,
along with the calligraphy.
Yuzu-san, thank you for the
moving haiku.
☆彡
12th piece
Yuzu-sama

Yuzu-san, this is the third haiku.
It is a haiku written with thoughts of your
youngest son, born in spring.
I intended to symbolically express a picture
connecting a mother's hand and a child's hand.
I tried to keep the calligraphy style
consistent across all three pieces.
Yuzu-san, your warm sensibility
guided the calligraphy style
toward a softer script.
Yuzu-san, once again,
thank you very much.
☆彡
13th piece
Keiko-sama

The 13th piece,
Keiko-san's haiku.
It seems the anniversary of your father's passing is near.
First, I drew the Big Dipper broadly.
For the calligraphy style, I incorporated a bit of cursive script (gyosho),
aiming for a more mature look.
Have I been able to express the sentiment of entrusting your thoughts
to the winter Big Dipper?
Please forgive my humble calligraphy.
I am grateful to Keiko-san.
Thank you very much
for letting me write this.
☆彡
14th piece
Hanemiya Itoyo-sama

The fourteenth piece, this is a poem by Itoya Hanemiya.
Ms. Hanemiya wrote about a new planner for the New Year.
I thought for a while about how to write it, and decided to write it with the image of writing a poem in a schedule book. I drew in the ruled lines.
So, I wrote it horizontally. I wrote it using a blue-black fountain pen.
Depending on the theme being handled, the style of writing also changes. This was a learning experience for me as well.
To Itoya Hanemiya, thank you very much.
☆彡
The fifteenth piece
Haru~to Tomoni

The fifteenth piece, this is the second submission from Haru~to Tomoni. Thank you for waiting.
For a few days, when I had some time, I was thinking about how to write this poem.
First, I decided to make it a standard piece of calligraphy, as I always do, without trying to be eccentric. Then, I re-read Haru's article once more, and my eyes were drawn to the text where the current generation of successors incorporates the color blue, so I decided to use a blue-black fountain pen, just like last time.
Regarding the layout of the characters, I prepared the image to be somewhat vertically long. The shape, which gradually descends diagonally downward, is intended to mimic the image of succession.
Thinking of the depth of Kyoto's traditional crafts and Asahi ware, I wrote this with a sense of straightening my back.
Haru~to Tomoni, thank you very much.
☆彡
The sixteenth piece
Hyuga Shimakaze

The sixteenth one is
a poem by Hyuga Shimakaze.
I wrote it using a brush pen.
The moment I read your poem,
I felt a sense of empathy and was deeply moved,
so I immediately took up my brush.
By writing without resting my elbow on the table,
I incorporated a sense of emotional instability
into the style of the calligraphy.
Hyuga Shimakaze,
thank you very much
for letting me write such a wonderful poem.
