My Passion Continent. — Mother of a 9-year-old boy, swimming through my days with all my might.
Hello. This is Tsunagu | HIROMI🎈.
In entering Chinen Maple's #PassionChampionship, I chose this title.
“My Passion Continent.”
If I were to put it in the style of that famous documentary,
this is the story of a traveler named Mother,
swimming through the jungle of every day.
■ Episode 1 | Childbirth, it was a “mountain climb.”
First, the initial mountain.
For me, who had a hard time getting pregnant,
conceiving a child was a miraculous event.
And after protecting the life I finally received inside me all that time—
Finally, the day of birth.
“It took a whole day.”
It was long. It was painful.
I don't know how many times I believed the midwife when she said, "It's almost time."
But,
the moment I heard that first cry,
it felt as if the sky had suddenly opened up.
■ Episode 2 | A 9-year-old boy, a bundle of passion and chaos.
Right now, he is in the fourth grade.
He is talkative, mischievous, hates to lose,
and surprisingly kind.
His favorite foods are steak and salmon sashimi.
Even though his taste is a bit mature,
his sleeping face hasn't changed at all since he was three.
His current obsession is
“turning Roblox character movements into creative dances.”
According to him, “there is potential in the variations of movement.”
■ Episode 3 | “Love” alone isn't enough to get by. But “love” wraps everything up.
Socks that seem to smell like a day of hard work from his school bag.
The miraculous technique of having all his clothes stacked inside the washing machine.
(He just took them all off at once)
The bombshell announcement right before leaving: “I need my calligraphy set today.”
“Heyyyyyyy!! Your socks!!!!”
There are days I yell.
I'm practically a dragon.
But even so, after all...
The mystery that everything is wiped clean when I see his sleeping face.
■ Episode 4 | My passion is 'to leave behind a future where this child can live easily'
Parenting is a rollercoaster of emotions, isn't it?
Crying, laughing, getting angry,
by the end of the day, my soul is almost drained.
But, I suddenly think.
“I want to create a society where this child can live as themselves,
without being afraid.”
That is my passion.
My feelings as a mother
eventually led to me sharing messages of 'peace' and 'kindness'.
■ Episode Final | Passion also dwells in the ingredients of a lunch box.
Passion isn't
some big dream or a special talent.
Thinking 'Let's do my best today' while
packing Chiki-Chiki Bone into a lunch box,
it might be something that dwells in such small daily routines.
My Passion Continent continues on.
There are waves and winds.
But every day, I am swimming with all my might.
Thank you for reading.
