Top 10 Things People Regret Most
In June, I spent a little over two weeks traveling through France, Spain, and Belgium.
The purpose was to meet people.
There were reunions with old friends and new encounters as well.
I planned a very relaxed schedule, and with each person, I talked about many things while drinking tea, looking at the sea, walking through the city, having meals, and sitting in saunas.
I feel that there are things you can only hear and feel because you met and talked in person.
In the fourth volume of the super-bestseller "The Elephant Who Grants Wishes," titled "Ganesha and the Grim Reaper", the Grim Reaper lists the top 10 things people regret on their deathbeds.
The fourth one is 'not going to see the people I wanted to see.'
Also, the third one is 'working too much.'
Conversely, things like 'not getting a promotion' or 'not earning more money' are not included.
(I have also included a reading log at the end of this note.)
【Things humans regret on their deathbeds】
1. Not doing what I really wanted to do
2. Not taking care of my health
3. Working too much
4. Not going to see the people I wanted to see
5. Not learning what I should have learned
6. Not forgiving others
7. Not listening to others' opinions
8. Not expressing gratitude to others
9. Not preparing for death
10. Not leaving behind proof that I lived
'Meeting friends' is, in itself, a conversation with no productivity.
Perhaps that is why it often ends up being put off.
'Someday,' 'Next time.'
While saying things like that, it may be that the day never comes.
Among the people I met this time, there was a friend I had been worried about after hearing she had breast cancer surgery a few years ago.
Seeing her looking well and being able to laugh together just like before, I truly felt glad that I met her this time.
There are countless people we meet in life.
Among them, if you meet someone you think, 'I want to see them again' or 'I want to meet them in person,' that might be a very lucky thing.
If there is someone like that, why not make a plan to go see them this summer?
Well then, have a great day today too!
