[Sendai Gourmet] Full within 5 minutes of opening! Enjoying rich black vinegar and spring vegetable-packed yakisoba at "Toranoko"
Visited on 2026/03/14
I visited "Toranoko," a popular and always bustling Chinese restaurant located in Nakayama, Aoba-ku, Sendai.
■ The surprise right after opening, and the prime seat I was lucky enough to snag
I headed there for the 11:00 AM opening and arrived just 5 minutes later.
However, there were already customers inside enjoying their meals.
I was surprised by the energy, wondering if they had opened even before the scheduled time, but luckily there were two tables left, so I was able to sit down without waiting.
■ Even while hesitating, the magic of "limited-time" items always draws me in
The charm of "Toranoko" lies in its periodically changing limited-time menu.
While the reliability of the standard menu is hard to pass up, when faced with the menu, I am inevitably tempted by the "limited" items that make the most of the current season.
Unable to resist that charm this time as well, I ordered two limited-time items and the standard gyoza.

Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork Set (¥1,591) The black vinegar here is incredibly rich, and once you eat it, the deliciousness becomes addictive. The deep acidity and richness are truly irresistible, making you want to "repeat" it. The bang bang chicken salad that comes with the set is also always delicious.

Spring Yakisoba (¥1,137) Shrimp, squid, wood ear mushrooms, broccoli, chijimi yukina, carrots, bean sprouts, Chinese cabbage... it is packed with ingredients! The noodles are a mix of crispy "scorched" parts and chewy "fresh" parts, so you can enjoy the changing textures until the very last bite without ever getting bored.

The inside is packed with meat, making it very satisfying.
My favorite way to eat them is with a dipping sauce of "vinegar and pepper."
You can taste the flavor of the meat directly.
■ Past 12:00, when I left the shop, there was...
When I left the restaurant full after 12:00, there was a line of about 8 groups waiting outside! I felt the popularity of this shop firsthand once again.
"Toranoko" is a place where you can encounter new flavors every time you visit. It was a lunch time that left me looking forward to my next visit, wondering what the next limited menu will be.
