Two shaved ice treats from Asakusa Naniwaya. So delicious, I close my eyes.

Lately, I've been so busy with one thing or another that I haven't been able to go to Naniwaya. I was sad about it, but I finally made it.

First up is the "Chai Coffee." It's made with coffee bean paste, nuts, and coffee milk.
I was so curious about what the coffee bean paste would be like. It was rich, had great depth, and was delicious. The nuts as an accent also did a great job.
I especially loved the walnuts.

This one is just... what can I say? The lineup is incredible. It's called "Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Milk," and it's all things I love.
Anyway, I was so moved that the banana syrup didn't have a chemical taste but tasted like real bananas. It really brings out the peanut butter, which I already love to death, while the banana itself plays a starring role.

I wish they would make this a staple. Bananas are always in season, and nuts are available year-round, so I think it's possible.

What's amazing about Naniwaya is that besides shaved ice, they also bake taiyaki, and they have meal menus and drinks too.
People who want shaved ice and those who don't can enjoy the place together. Usually, in shops like that, the indoor temperature is kept low for the coming season, so you get cold eating shaved ice, but Naniwaya is different. Is it because they're baking taiyaki? It doesn't get freezing cold, so you can tackle your shaved ice with peace of mind.
