💎 [Mental] How to Relax to Improve Performance
This is an article you can read in about 3 minutes. Please feel free to read it during a break at work or during your lunch hour.🌸

I am quite an impatient type...
Whether it's training or work...
I find myself thinking, 'Once I set a goal, I want to achieve it as quickly as possible!'
💪✨
For example...
• Today, I want to go home early
• I want to lose 〇kg through dieting
• I want to lift 〇kg in squats
When I set goals like that, I try to achieve them via the shortest route possible.
But when I do that, I sometimes feel myself thinking, 'I'm a bit rushed...' 😅

🌷 Pros and Cons of Being Impatient
There are certainly good sides to having an impatient personality.
🌟 Pros
• Quick to act
• Decisive
• Easy to achieve short-term results
🌙 Cons
• Cannot handle each process carefully
• Rushing for results leads to neglecting the basics
• Can look like a 'person under pressure' to those around you
These 'both sides of the pros and cons' are always present within me.

🌷 Since Realizing That 'Rushing Doesn't Change Anything'
I have also started to change my way of thinking little by little recently.
For example...
• When it's late at night at work
Whether I rush home thinking 'I want to go home early!' or go home slowly and calmly, it actually doesn't make much of a difference 🚶♀️💭
• When working
Rather than rushing thinking 'I have to finish this quickly!', working calmly and carefully results in finishing more efficiently ✨
• During training
Rather than putting in too much effort thinking 'I have to give it my all here!', relaxing my shoulders a bit actually leads to better performance 💪🌸
Actually, just the other day, something like this happened.
I packed my bags thinking, 'I'm tired today, so I'll go home,' and left the workplace.
But on the way home, I reconsidered, thinking, 'Maybe I should do a little bit,' and went back to the workplace to train.
Then,
I was suddenly able to do something I couldn't do before ✨
I was able to lift more weight than usual and set a new personal record.
It's strange, but I think this means that you get better results when you are 'relaxed, having almost given up' than when you are 'challenging yourself with full motivation.'

The Importance of Relaxing
Having played baseball in my student days, I like watching baseball and often watch games.
There, I noticed that as the level rises from high school to university and then to the pros, there is 'a certain difference.'
That is 'how to relax' ✨
• High school baseball players are impressive for always dashing at full speed and putting effort into everything.
They are full of energy and very cute 🩷
• When they become university students, a little bit of composure emerges there. Their expressions and gestures become calmer, and their movements become more efficient.
• When they become professionals, they seem even more natural and appear to be drawing out their best performance.
• And when they become national team members, they are so relaxed that you might wonder, 'Are they really giving it their all?', but in fact, they are playing at the highest level.
In other words, whether you are trying hard and putting in effort, or relaxing a little, the results don't change much.
In fact, sometimes relaxing actually improves performance.

🏢 The Same Can Be Said for the Workplace
This applies not only to the world of sports but also to the workplace.
• People who are always smiling and moving slowly
At first glance, they may look 'laid back,' but in reality, they often hold senior positions or get their work done properly.
• On the other hand, people who are always grumpy and quick to move
Even if they look like they are 'working hard,' sometimes their work results don't actually follow.
In short,
the appearance of straining and working hard only looks like working hard
Conversely, it is the people who move with a smile and composure who are actually demonstrating high performance.

😌 My Experience as a Student
Actually, I myself was told this by my coach in club activities.
'Don't show your white teeth!!'
I think that meant I should work with a serious face without smiling.
But now, looking at the professional baseball players, what about them?
They are playing baseball very happily, with smiles on their faces, aren't they? ⚾️✨
And that appearance is exactly what produces the best play.
I think this is the answer.

✨ Summary
Until now, I have always been "impatient" and anxious to "get results immediately." Of course, there are times when that is necessary.
But now, I try to think like this:
"Whether you hurry or not, it doesn't make much of a difference."
Since I started thinking that way,
🌟 My performance in training has improved,
🌟 My work actually gets finished faster,
🌟 And I have more breathing room in my daily life.
And what I realized is that,
rather than "gritting my teeth with all my might,"
smiling, relaxing, and enjoying myself leads to the best results.🌸
