I thought no one would notice if I took a day off

If I post every day, will it really start reaching people?

If my followers increase, will something change?

I was always thinking about things like that, too.

To begin with, I didn't even know an app called note existed.

When I heard the word "note," I initially thought it meant a paper notebook (lol).

That’s how completely uninterested I was back then.

A year ago, I never imagined I would still be writing notes like this a year later.

Of course, it’s not like I’ve been full of motivation for this entire year.

Maybe I should skip posting today.
It’s such a hassle...
I’m tired, so maybe today is fine.
No one will notice if I don't post for just one day, right?

When I first started note, I was truly terrible at writing.

I was desperate just to write ten lines, and I felt like I had done a great job for the day.

I was so envious of people who could write fluently, and I thought it was impossible for me to write anything that people would actually want to read.

Even so, I kept writing a little bit every day, lifting my heavy self up with a "heave-ho!"

That accumulation started reaching someone little by little, and I began to receive many kind words.

As I put my own experiences, feelings, and lessons into words, the number of people reading them gradually increased.

Before I knew it, I had over 600 followers.

And eventually, I started receiving such wonderful comments:

Your post was wonderful!
It was very easy to read.
Even a marketing beginner can read this.
I’m not good with English terms, but I could read this smoothly!
It’s like I can hear Toyo’s voice.

I can’t tell you how much these words saved me.

To everyone who comes to read my notes every time,
to everyone who receives my words,
thank you so much!

Through continuing to share, I’ve come to see something.

And that is!

It’s not about how many people it reached, but whether I was able to share something that remained in someone’s heart.

When you start using social media, you inevitably end up caring about the numbers.

Follower counts, number of likes, view counts...

Of course, numbers are important, but if you only look at numbers, the purpose of social media can change before you know it.

It becomes about wanting to increase numbers because you want to reach someone.

I’ve struggled with that many times myself.

There were times when I worked hard to post but got no reaction, and I wondered if it was reaching anyone at all...

I’ve also thought many times, is there any point in writing every day?

But as I continued with note and my connections with people grew, I realized something.

Sharing isn't something you struggle to make big on your own; it’s something that spreads through relationships with others.

Even if people are sharing similar content, there are some people who get supported, right?

I want to buy that person’s product.
I want to see what that person recommends.
People who are thought of in that way.

Don't you wonder what that difference is?

I’ve been thinking about that for a long time, too.

And the concept I encountered was "UGC," which my mentor, Addy-san, teaches.

UGC is about becoming someone people naturally want to recommend.

When you hear "UGC," you might think it’s another difficult marketing term and feel like you don't want to deal with it, but it’s not difficult at all.

In a word, it’s about becoming someone that others naturally want to recommend.

In the past, it was all about saying, "I made this product!" or "I have this service!"
It was centered on telling people yourself, and of course, that is still important.

But now, it’s an era where it’s hard to reach people with just that.

Why, you ask?

Because there is too much information!

Everything comes up if you search for it, right?

No matter how good something is, if it’s not known, it’s the same as not existing.

That’s where the power of someone else telling others about it becomes important.

In fact, I’ve felt this myself while continuing note.

When someone introduced my article, or when they read it and said, "It was good!"

That power is many times greater than my own individual posts.

The reason I want to recommend Addy-san from the bottom of my heart is because she isn't just someone who teaches techniques to grow numbers on social media.

She teaches a more important way of thinking about delivering value through human connections.

Having continued note myself, I’ve realized that whether it’s writing, audio, or social media, what remains in the end is the relationship that makes people think, "I want to receive this from this person!"
