〈Steamed Oysters are the Best〉 I went to the Shiriuchi Food Festival in Sapporo.
It is 13 degrees in Sapporo. That is the temperature of a slightly warm winter day in Tokyo.
Whew.
It was cold yesterday.
I was walking around Sapporo Station, Odori, and Tanukikoji until the evening, and the daytime temperature was 13 degrees.
It has gotten quite cold.
Some of the tourists passing by were wearing thin down jackets.
Y-yeah, that makes sense. It is the temperature of a slightly warm winter day in Tokyo, after all.
The heater is finally on.
The temperature outside at night is 9 degrees💦
I am glad I came home in the evening.
I managed to endure it by wearing fluffy socks and a fleece, but I finally turned on the "heater" for the first time this autumn.
In the midst of all this, an event I happened to encounter last year and became a huge fan of was held again this year, so I went!
A food event for Shiriuchi Town.
I went to the"Shiriuchi Connecting Food Festa in Sapporo" held at the "North 3-jo Plaza (Akapla)" next to the Red Brick Terrace in front of Sapporo Station.
There was a row of attractive food stalls serving pizza made with Shiriuchi ingredients, Shiriuchi gyoza, seafood bowls, steamed oysters, and more. There were more vendors than last year, making it even livelier.
I couldn't forget the "oysters" from Shiriuchi Town that I ate here last year.
I really wanted to eat them again this year.
The "oysters" from Shiriuchi Town were, without flattery or marketing, truly delicious.
I lured my high school son, with whom I have fewer opportunities to go out, with oysters and went together.

Plump steamed oysters.
One pack of three is 1,000 yen. Since oysters from outside Hokkaido cost at least 250 or 300 yen each at supermarkets near Sapporo, I think the price is quite reasonable.

The meat is thick and plump!
When you put it in your mouth, the scent of the sea and the rich flavor of the oyster spread rapidly, giving you the satisfaction of having "eaten oysters."
It is irresistible for seafood lovers. Thank you.
That was a delicious meal.
My son and I had a wonderful time.
What kind of place is Shiriuchi Town?
It is located in southern Hokkaido, the town where the Hokkaido entrance to the Seikan Tunnel is located.
It is about an hour by car or 40 minutes by train from Hakodate.
It is also accessible in about an hour from Shin-Aomori, making it convenient for sightseeing from the Tohoku region.
The happiness of being able to taste the bounty of Hokkaido's sea in the middle of the city.
When there are events like this, my list of places I want to travel to grows by one more.
In closing.
Thank you for reading this far.
I hope I have been able to convey even a little bit of the autumn atmosphere in Sapporo and the flavors of Shiriuchi Town.
I will report back when I find another seasonal event🍂
If you think "I want to go!", I would be happy if you could give me a like or a comment☺️
