The winter general was making it snow as if to say it was his 'final parting shot'.
Just when the signs of spring were finally in the air, I am sure there were some who had already finished changing their tires.
I can only imagine the 'shudder' you felt when you saw the scenery this morning.
Fortunately, it was only a light dusting of snow, so by 8:00 AM, the snow on the main streets had already begun to melt.
There is a chance that as long as you watch out for frozen road surfaces tonight, there shouldn't be any major issues, but please, everyone, be very careful with your footing throughout the day today.
Nature is something that, from time to time, warns us against our own 'complacency'.
Wanting to lighten the weight of 30 years just a little
I have been in this trade for 30 years (35 if you count from my apprenticeship), and I have always worked alongside the four seasons of Morioka.
In the old days, I would even take heavy portable tatami sewing machines to the job site and do the stitching right there.
When it snowed, I had to watch my step, carry heavy machinery, and drag several long extension cords around the site.
That was the 'norm' for a craftsman, and I had a stubborn belief that the work itself included that very inconvenience.
However, as I watched this morning's snow melt away, a thought suddenly occurred to me.
“Hmm? Couldn't I become more lighthearted and free, just like this melting snow?”
Perhaps as I have aged, I have gradually begun to feel tired of the hassle of managing heavy cords.
