[Happy Writing Marathon #33] The 🙏spell🙏 I chant when it really counts: "What is your pattern for achieving success?"
When I wished for it, I met her
Seeing this topic, the first thing that came to mind was myself in high school.
Back then, while reading self-help books like Napoleon Hill's, I would
"clarify my wishes and work on my subconscious,"
and I believed in and practiced that quite earnestly.
There was a girl in my high school class I liked.
One day, after often wishing in my heart that I could meet her, I ran into her by chance at the station.
Thinking back, that might have been my first-ever "law of attraction" experience.
……But, I couldn't bring myself to talk to her at the time😅
Without being able to confess my feelings, it ended without ever becoming a romance.
But, regardless of the result,
"Thinking about things affects reality"
I remember that feeling remaining somewhere within me.
Bugs are solved by letting go
Time passed, and I was working as a programmer in America.
On Friday nights, I would sometimes get stuck on a bug I just couldn't solve.
In those times, I wouldn't push myself; I'd just go home and sleep.
Before going to sleep, I would say this in my heart:
"The bug will definitely be solved"
Then, strangely enough, I experienced many times that when I tackled it again on Monday, the solution would appear effortlessly.
Rather than thinking desperately, the answer comes when you believe and let go.
I kept accumulating experiences like that.
The conviction that "you will meet the people you are meant to meet"
After returning to Japan, I planned a service called "Self-Version-Up Declaration," which delivered daily self-help book quotes for i-mode.
To make it a reality, I needed to get permission for secondary use from publishers and authors.
So,
I participated in seminars and lectures
I sent messages from websites
I wrote emails to publishers
and I calmly did everything I could think of.
However, deep in my heart, perhaps due to my past experiences,
I had an intuition that 'you will meet the people you are meant to meet at the right time.'
In fact, I connected with several authors and publishers, and the service launched successfully.
An unexpected email
During that time, I once attended a Christmas seminar by Ken Honda.
Having read 'The Millionaire's Teachings,' I was determined to hear Ken speak and get to know him.
At the end of the seminar, I stood in a long line to exchange business cards. I sent an email later, but there was no reply.
That's only natural, right?
Six months later, having completely forgotten about it, an email suddenly arrived.
“This is Ken Honda.”
The reason was something completely different.
It was about the bonus CD for a LOHAS-themed mook by Benesse that we had produced and managed as musicians.
Ken and his wife happened to listen to that healing acoustic music and contacted me to say they 'really liked it.'
I was truly surprised the moment I read the email.
After that, we met in person, and I was able to build a connection as a musician.
The album based on that bonus CD, To Be Acoustic's 'Simply Natural - Music for LOHAS,' is here.
But in the end, I never once brought up the original idea of using my book for secondary purposes 😆
Fate is a mysterious thing, isn't it?
A mysterious connection that started with a case of mistaken identity
There is one more unforgettable encounter.
When I was publishing a LOHAS book and holding seminars, I wanted to invite Saya Takagi as a guest, so I sent an inquiry message through her official website.
Of course, we had never met.
A few days later, I received a reply from her personally, which said:
“Toshi-san, long time no see. Let's go get something to eat sometime!”
No, no, this was definitely a case of mistaken identity. I replied honestly to that effect.
Then, what came back was:
“Oh, I see. Well, you seem like a LOHAS person, so that's fine. Let's talk over a meal sometime.”
That is how we met in person,
and afterwards, we held a dialogue at a seminar,
she provided a blurb for the reprint of my first LOHAS book,
and we even did a three-way conversation at the beginning of my second LOHAS book.
I remember visiting the eco-house she built on the Boso Peninsula back then.
My 'spell for achieving desires'
Through these repeated mysterious encounters, there are words I have come to chant, such as during meditation.
Meet the right people at the right time,
know the wisdom you should know at the right time,
and gain the wealth you should gain at the right time
When I believe in these three things, strangely enough, at turning points in my life, the necessary people and information appear with surprising timeliness, and they often lead to work or the next development.
Ken-san once told me,
"Toshi, you are a typical 'development-type' person."
Indeed, rather than setting detailed goals, I may be living a life that has unfolded within the flow, believing in this spell.
And that journey called life will surely continue on for a long time to come.
