Student S, who says they have managed to run away from English until now, set a goal to be able to confidently give presentations in English and handle Q&A sessions in meetings one year later, and began learning English at TORAIZ.

◆ Story

At the time of enrollment, they were a beginner and started from almost zero. They began with basic grammar, followed by pattern practice using those basics, and in lessons, they continued with discussions on various topics, reviews, and repetitive practice.
They had concerns about not being able to organize what they wanted to say in English, not being able to convey the main points, and having content conveyed that was different from what they actually thought or wanted to express.
First, they practiced organizing the content they wanted to convey in English and then practiced expressing it in different ways, gradually becoming able to speak confidently in front of others.
In the latter half of the course, they repeated inputting phrases necessary for meetings and presentations and outputting them in lessons, and finally achieved their goal in their actual work environment.
Currently, they are continuing their lessons to further refine their skills.

◆ Student S Comment

<Why I started TORAIZ>
I have faced situations where English was necessary many times, but each time I ran away, and even when I made up my mind, I couldn't continue, and I even decided to live my life giving up on English. However, the number of meetings requiring English increased, and I faced a situation I could not avoid. In particular, I was disgusted by the "personality change" where I, who can speak well in Japanese, could not speak in English, and I felt strong frustration at not being able to express my thoughts on work in my own words.

<Why I chose TORAIZ>
I realized that self-study was impossible for me, as I had failed many times, and I was convinced that a coaching type was the best. I read the book by the president of TORAIZ and signed up immediately, thinking, "This is it." Since I felt the limits of my own learning methods and progress management, I had no hesitation in relying on coaching.

<The reality of English coaching>
I was impressed by the system that diagnoses issues first and the appropriate support from the consultant in charge. I was encouraged by comments like, "S-san, you do things properly when you are busy, don't you?" and was able to proceed with a study method that suited me. Also, the flexibility of suggesting the next teaching material without denying me even when I told them I had slacked off was helpful. Furthermore, the fact that a relationship of trust was built between the consultant in charge, who believed in me while considering the possibility that something might not be a good fit, and me, who was desperate to overcome my complex by honestly telling them even when I slacked off, was also significant.

<The current me>
I cannot speak English perfectly, but I have become able to actively participate in English meetings and ask questions about things I do not understand. I realized that no one speaks perfect English, and I have reached a new frontier where I can speak English like myself without changing my personality. Shadowing has also become a habit, and when I pick up an inspiring speech, I am moved by its content, and my daily life continues with watching other videos.

You should reduce the time spent searching for English learning and rely on coaching. I hope that people suffering from English can get closer to the person they aim to be in the shortest time possible.

They actively practiced with their coach toward another goal they mentioned during the course.
S-san is very active, and after significantly improving their English ability in the one-year program, they went on a solo bullet trip to the U.S. for several days, visited various companies, and returned home with their perspective on their future career and life greatly expanded.
When they told me, "I went to the U.S. last week and saw various companies!", I was surprised and very happy, not only because of their ability to take action, but also because I thought it was a change unimaginable from S-san when they were struggling with communication in English.
By acquiring English, they have become interested in overseas universities such as Stanford, and for the current S-san, the future possibilities are truly infinite.
