Hello there. This is the 78th installment of my fishing log. This is my fourth tuna hunt of the year.
Previous: Shark Shock ← Line and drag issues
Two times ago: Tuna hit ← Hook and drag issues
Three times ago: Tuna hit ← Drag issues
Something is happening. But I haven't accomplished anything. This is the kind of fishing where if there is even one flaw, it immediately collapses. I've tried it three times, and the lure is probably okay, but the problem is the drag. I'm going to graduate from my previous 'vague' approach and start measuring it, even if it is analog. Huh? You're asking why I'm doing this now? That's the point!!
First, as a basic concept, it seems you should set it to about 25-30% of the line's strength. I see. So for PE 1.2 that's 2.7kg, for PE 2.5 it's 5.67kg, and for PE 4 it's 6.8kg. I see.
I tried it with my SW6000 spooled with 2.5. This reel has an effective drag value of 10kg, so I'll start by aiming for about 2.5kg. I also thought, isn't 2.5kg a bit low when it can go up to 10kg? As for the measurement method, I used a simple method of putting water equivalent to the weight into a plastic bottle, placing it in an eco-bag, and lifting it vertically.
And 2.5kg is quite a lot. I set it and tried to pull the line out by hand, but I had never done it with that much tension before. Last time, I think it was set to about 1kg... I wonder if that's okay... Let's give it a try.
The tackle is almost the same as last time.

I'll try it with this. Here I go.
Morning session

The scenery was beautiful.
Chilled Chinese noodles (Hiyashi Chuka)

I splurged and tried two types of toppings instead of the usual one. The salad chicken was about 190 yen, and the 'Shitaraba' (with cheese) was about 120 yen, which is approaching 67% of the base price.
By the way, I brought my own mayonnaise and curry powder.

So, setting and tuning complete. By adding curry, the salad chicken took on a tandoori-like feel. And the highlight was the Shitaraba (with cheese).
This season, I've gone from crab sticks → fish sausage → chikuwa & chopped green onions → FamilyMart grilled chicken, and Shitaraba (with cheese) was a candidate each time but was rejected. It finally made its debut. This is good.
Unlike normal crab sticks, the way the meat unravels into granules was a new encounter. In addition, the 30 yen or so that the clerk from earlier, who was out of breath, handed to me after I walked a few hundred meters from the convenience store and turned around when he tapped my shoulder saying, 'Sir, you forgot your change,' combined with the cheap cheese flavor that drifts in when you least expect it, is exceptionally delicious. Especially with a type of chilled Chinese noodles (HC) that has strong acidity, it harmonizes without clashing with the two-top forwards of the sauce's acidity and the mayonnaise's acidity. Or rather, the HC has become a center forward like Messi who just scores points. With the fatherly noodle sauce, motherly mayonnaise, and child-like Shitaraba (with cheese), it feels like the HC Trinity theory has finally been established.
Even if you just say 'Shitaraba,' there are many kinds. First of all, there are three types even among the convenience store brands. In addition, there is a hundred-flower-blooming variety of schools of thought with cheese-filled, mayo-filled, and so on. Choosing the best Shitaraba for the day's HC from among these can only be described as the work of a junkie.
I think I'll go with Shitaraba next time too, but I also want to aim for the fulfillment of the Trinity doctrine of the Goma sect (Protestant).
Ah, I forgot to add the shichimi.
Afternoon session

The boundary between the sea and the sky disappeared, and there was thunder.
Summary of this trip
・Shitaraba is great.
・I want to know how to catch wary bonito that won't bite lures. This time, I went as light as a 20g TG Bait, but it was no good. A fellow passenger used a worm, but that didn't work either. It seems reeling speed is important; I got the impression, is this actually Tai-raba?
Good work, everyone.
