People in the old days really loved wedding favors, didn't they...

This is the "wedding favor tower" that appeared while cleaning the second floor.

They kept coming out, so I tried stacking them, but they quickly exceeded my height (I'm 146cm).

They must have been things to give each other on various occasions.
Wedding gifts, baby gifts, retirement commemorations, return gifts for funerals... the pretexts were endless.

The items themselves were also all sorts of things: towels, handkerchiefs, plates, aprons, blankets, and so on.

And they aren't being put to use, are they...
There are plenty of other towels, and my mother won't throw them away even when they're worn out.

The cycle is stagnant.

For 35 years, the amount used has continued to be less than the amount received.

Looking up at the wedding favor tower that had become taller than me, I thought about such things.

Taking them to a recycle shop

I can't just keep stacking them, so I'm taking them to a recycle shop.

This isn't just one or two piles like this.

I've been bringing various unwanted items in for purchase since 2024, and now in 2025, the total amount from those purchases has exceeded 20,000 yen.
